The call against Dermott is the one that still bothers me. We've all seen defencemen like Chara make that play pretty much every game without a call. I don't know how an official can make that call in a playoff game. - BetterCallSaul
agreed...the guy turned and was falling down on his own to boot.

If Kapanen had 4 goals I'd sit up. But he has ZERO points.
ZERO.
He's a quality player and glad he's on the team, but (frank) sakes. - AdamFrench
Agree, but lots of poor performances on the Leafs so far. His ice-time has been very limited so far. With all the short handed situations last night - 5 on 5 time was dominated by the top two lines.

Nylander Gardiner JVR
all Phaneuf category players.
Can't win a cup with them - just don't want to win it enough.
Nothing to do whether Nylander has 60 points or 40 points or 80 points - he just doesn't have 'it'.
Before other GMs find out, better to try and trade him for a young top2 defender (righthander if possible) |

It's like Dermott too, people are blind to his mistakes. |

Matthews was poop the first three games and he is the best player on the team
Kuznetzof has 1 goal and 1 A in 12 playoff games.....has gone 17 points in 17 games since. People need to (frank)ing relax |

He has given the puck away, not saying he has been bad at all.
I just find it funny how Gardiner and Rielly make all these great plays then make one mistake and people go crazy, while Dermott tries to rush the puck up the ice, gives it away for a breakaway, and it is dead silent on here. |

Probably because he's a rookie and supposed to make mistakes and is expected too...we're hoping the $5m/yr guys don't make the rookie mistakes.....I myself like to female dog about anyone who makes dumb plays. |

Cool, then people need to stop saying he can replace Gardiner at this time
And the way Gardiner plays, there will be mistakes. It is unavoidable.
Same with Subban. Not trying to compare their level of skills, just their skillsets |

Intent is irrelevant and impossible to determine. The fact is Toronto had one power play in the game - (and scored) And the ref appeared to try to not call a penalty on that play, despite the fact that the offender's stick blade was lodged in Johnsson's skate almost to the shaft. Good thing he didn't break his ankle. - winsix
This.
The hesitation to make the call on that play was hilarious. If it wasn't for the fact that the stick was still inside the skate blade seconds after Johnsson hit the ice the ref would have let it go.
Just brutal.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: the "situational reffing" is a (frank)ing embarrassment. If a team was up several goals the whistle goes away for that team while soft penalties against them abound -- especially when said team is on the road. This appears to be occur in hockey at a much higher rate than any other sport. |

I'm saying Kapanen is Grabner and Nylander is legitimate top-6 threat. - AdamFrench
We'd be talking a little bit different if Kappies posts went in lol
But I agree Willie>Kasper |

I agree
He does a lot of good things for this team, the 2nd most important defender behind Rielly. |
