4-2 Marlies

Grundstrom

- GreatGigInTheSky

Grundstrom and Engvall have been good for Marlies, lots of Swedes in the system

He's not wrong at all

I can't ever recall a team benching their 1st line winger for an elimination game just because he has had a bad handful of games.

The Leafs would be the first

- Santo_44

I’m not sitting him, was just stating it wouldn’t be a surprise when someone mentioned it....I’d play Johnsson over him.

You?

Wait what? someone wants to sit nylander tomorrow?
- burn

Who knows, sitting one of your best players in the biggest game of the season has never been tried before, so we can't know for sure that it's insane idiocy, right?

I'm sorta at a cross-roads here..

On one hand I love hockey so much and i want to see the Leafs succeed. But on the other hand I refuse to support a league that clearly fixes games. I don't know what kompormat the Bruins have on Bettman, but it must be worse than hookers pissing on each other in Moscow.

Bettman is dirty IMO. There is too much money involved to not be suspicious of his past. Not sure of the extent or how he manipulates and cheats - don't trust the pr!ck! Have a read of this article by Bleacher Report:

I agree he hasn’t been great, but series and playoffs aren’t over yet.

It's stupid. Good way to really alienate a long term piece that has big-time talent. We are paying Babcock to coach and motivate - Hit the (frank)ing bricks already!

8-5 Pens

8 goals in a playoff game? What is this, the 1980's??

All we need is fighting and line brawls!

Even the most ardent Pens fan would admit that the Crosby draft in the middle of a bankruptcy situation had a certain odor to it.

Not really. I'd be willing to give the '83 pens the deal for intentionally tanking to get Mario, but a number of other teams had the same opportunity to get Sid in '05. Hell, it might have been better for gary's NHL if anaheim had him

if it means taking Nylander out of the lineup? Nope.

Now, if Nylander is as poop the past 82 games then it's a different story. You go with your top players and hope they preform. The spare parts are interchangeable.

Yep, why would the other owners allow it to happen? The other teams wouldn't gift Sid to Pittsburgh, they'd take Sid and say Pitt can fold, we don't give a (frank). Pens just got lucky, like the Leafs did with Matthews.

Not the same - NHL was different when Mario was drafted - rules were if you finished last you get the 1st pick - they tanked, many teams have tanked - there is no hard rule against it. With Crosby, there was a lottery - which was suspicious. If you believe there was no fix ok, I don't . Tim Donaghy went to jail for fixing NBA games. Bettman was third in command at the NBA. I think he's dirty. Just my opinion.

Gary Bettman rhymes with Very Bad Man. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Not my thinking, but his post was pretty clear that he thinks Bettman is corrupt and judging by last nights officiating I have to agree.
