Jordan is the only player in NBA history to win the MVP, defensive player of the year award, and the NBA Championship in the same season.

Jordan has scored more points (in less games than Lebron) averages more points per game than Lebron, Kobe, Chamberlain, EVERYONE

Jordan turns the ball over less than Lebron and Kobe

Jordan averaged more steals per game than Lebron and Kobe

The category Lebron beats Jordan is assists and rebounds per game, Jordan beats Kobe in both of these.

He is the GOAT

- Stripes77

Lebron is the better passer by a mile

Lebron can defend any position on the court, and does, at a high level, niether Kobe or Jordan can.

Better rebounder, better inside player.

You also forgot to mention how Jordan took a ton more shots than Lebron which is why he scored more

Name me one player From the Cavaliers team when they went to the NBA finals versus the Spurs
- gerbe75pts

What I do know, is that the level of competition now has only just reached the level of competition from the mid-80's to mid-90's era and LeBron James playing in a weak era for the first part of his career, going up against the Spurs when their 'Dynasty' was on the downswing, has no excuse for his performance in the Finals after that first appearance. If he was better than Jordan, he wouldn't have lost 4 times since that 2007 sweep. He would have carried his teams to the trophy, plain and simple.

He also chooses to flop for fouls rather than simply dominate his competition.

Jordan was flat out dominant, and the fact he did it against so many other HoF players for the entirety of his career is unquestionable.

People also act like Jordan didn't play in college before the NBA and as if the Bulls were always stacked. Instead of bailing on his team, he let them build a roster around him and his first 'retirement' (*cough* 2-year suspension *cough*) is clouded in controversy.

Where is Lebron's defensive player of the year award?

Lebron is an all time great, top 3 but Jordan is the GOAT

This is my favorite.

So Lebron actually making the finals and losing, is somehow worse than Jordan getting knocked out in the first round his first 3 years, and didn’t make the finals for 5 years.

Somehow that’s more impressive than actually making the finals

So the fact that Jordan didn’t make a finals until he was 27 was a 100% Jordan’s fault then too I guess, right?
- sbroads24

I posted before I read this, but you sit here and say LeBron played on a crap team 50% of his career, then go on about how Jordan didn't make the finals until he was 27, as if he didn't play on a crap team, which the Bulls were, for the entire first portion of his career.

Lebron didn't make the playoffs until his 3rd year and he didn't make the finals until his 4th

What are you even trying to say here?

That Jordan didn’t run through the playoffs to the finals every year.

People love to call out Lebron for choking in the finals, but don’t point out that the GOAT was taken out in the first round 3 straight times.

I’m sure he was fantastic in all those games, right?

The Bulls teams had way more competition in the East than any of Lebrons teams

It's not that hard to see

The Pistons won back to back Championships (went to 3 in a row)
The Knicks were always a good team went to a final
The Magic had Shaq and Hardaway they weren't slouches went to a final
The Celtics were coming off back to back final appearances

The East back then had better teams and more dispersed talent than the East does now

I find it interesting that the “competition” point is awarded to Jordan and his first round exits, but not Lebron in the finals.

He’s faced the best team ever assembled in Golden State in 3 straight finals and beat them once.

But the GOAT couldn’t beat Penny Hardaway or Isiah Thomas in his mid-thirties?

When the teams in the East that Jordan played won championships it explains why getting to the finals (in one piece after playing Detroit) gets the points over losing to Golden State.

Lebron gets a knock for leaving Cleveland to form a Super Team and still couldn't get over the hump until his 3rd try.

Lets face it the NBA for about 8 years was either the Heat or Cavs vs Golden State or the Spurs.

The fact that it was/is a 4 team league is absurd.

You clearly don't remember what kind of team that was...they literally beat the crap out of you. Lebron gets the treatment, Jordan got the crap kicked out of him.

I remember, I’m being sarcastic.

Those are the ridiculous things say about the teams Lebron faced.

Lebron had 1 finals I’d call “bad”. That was the first with the Heat.

I don't knock Lebron for losing in the finals, he played against teams that were mini dynasties.

Lebron's real playoffs didn't start until he made the finals.

That's just how bad the NBA was/is

This is the first year where the East actually has some competition.

Didn't he also donate all the money he received for hosting that decision special to a charity?

Every few years, athletes get massive hype and we're told they're future legends.

So far in my lifetime, only 2 athletes have had that kind of hype and actually been BETTER than the hype: LeBron and Tiger.

Agreed, but I think Crosby has done well living up to expectations

But I know the hype isn’t the same with hockey not being as popular

It is funny that Bettman comes from the NBA and learned nothing about making a league more fun.
