You really believe if the Cavs knew he was as much of a mess as he is they would have touched that deal with a ten foot pole? They were trying to get short and long term help.

the cavs had to trade kyrie...it put them in a difficult situation...yeah, Thomas was a part of the deal, but it was more of a hope he fit than them actually thinking he would...

they took what they could get but made sure they got that Brooklyn first, which mattered little to boston
