Bruins have been better. No 2 ways about it. Give them credit they have a battle tested team with a lot of heart and soul guys. Leafs just dont have the horses. Its frustrating to even watch them right now. Worst team to be a fan of its so depressing. |

you guys are set up front and will get better. you need a goalie and a solid D or two. |

Tough one for the Leafs. They were obviously the much better team last night, but sometimes the better team doesn’t win
Hopefully they can convert on a few more of their chances next game |

They talked so much about how the two teams are so comparable, but Boston's defense is on another level. Very composed, good cast of vets and young guys, they just managed to box out the leafs and keep good shots to a minimum. I also think getting Rick Nash is going to be the most underrated acquisition of the TDL, he's given them another very capable 2 way forward, he can score and defend against the best.
As for Toronto, I think the defense must have had a bet on who could make the longest stretch pass last night...shorten your effin passes buds, it's not working!! |

Stretch passed worked in game 3, and they still got some chances. Tuukka did his job last night.
Start of season D was the biggest concern, Chara is 85 years old, Krug didn’t know how to play D, the gave away the wrong Miller.
Damn if Sweeney didn’t know what he was doing.

Cassidy has really got this Team doing the things they need to do in order to beat a faster Team, I don't think the B's play this way against any other Team (maybe Vegas), I think he is out coaching Babadook That open neutral zone hurt them in game 3 so he took it away, Leafs when not making stretch passes were dumping it in and trying to beat the D to the puck,
credit Tuukka for Stealing a game here too

Rick Nash is probably the most overrated trade deadline acquisition. They paid an absolute haul for a guy they didn't really even need. Tommy Wingels is low-key the most underrated TDL acquisition.... Wingels for a 5th? I'll take that all day long.
Nash is like Michael Ryder with a bigger body... get's all the chances in the world, and has zero finish... he shoots from the worst angles, misses the net half the time and puts the puck in the goalies chest the other half. And he hasn't even made a wicked glove save yet (though he did have that one really nice play where he scooped the puck off the goal line). |

Well that's just like, uhh, your opinion man.
In my opinion, it is absolutely true...
They would have been better off paying the table scraps it took to get Vanek, or the slightly higher payment for Evander Kane. They threw away far too much for Rick Nash... he's all flash and zero substance. |

Summary : Goal 1 just lucky. B's lucky throughout series. Leafs were not. The dagger was giving Kadri 3 games. What a joke. One sided broadcast - NBC homers think its 1812. They dont realized most americans want to see Leafs win this. Leafs have much more talented Offense, but were MIA.. Leafs D brutal. B just good enough to win in Game 4, nothing more. Chara slow as a slug. Hopefully its over Saturday. Hope Pens or Tampa sweep the B's.... Once leafs are out, lose prob. 3-5 million audience. - jacksonNYR

20 something goals this year, 400 n something career, nope he certainly can't hit poop.
Next.
I would have preferred Vanek just so we don't have to play against him. Kane is a disaster waiting to happen... yet again. |

I think that’s a pretty good summary. Up to babcock to try and get creative in getting control of the puck in the offensive zone.

Boston's been the better team but man, the Leafs literally gave the first 2 games away for nothing. I felt like i was watching to Coyotes play. Boston could've tapes hockey stick blades to 5 chihuahuas, ice them, and they would've still won those games.
Game 3 & 4 have been the only ones where Toronto's been semi-awake, and even then playing poorly.
I've been watching Matthews and besides the Chara factor, I'm suspecting he's playing injured. He used to drag 1-2 guys on top of him, around the ice while puck handling, no problem. In this series, as soon as he gets poke checked, he lets it go or floats around. Had a few goals go against him while he was floating on defense. He was playing at another level before his 2 injuries this season. Dont think he was 100% coming in, and much less now.
Kadri would've helped (if he wouldnt run at people's heads) but Toronto would've still lost all 3 games due to defesemen playing badly. I cant see any of the 3 lost games being turned into a win, if he were playing. All 3 were caused by a complete defensive collapse across the board.
Moving on, I dont think Boston will move past Tampa if they play the same they did against a half hearted Leaf team thats scared of being hit. They'll need to turn it up a notch. |
