The Canadiens have agreed to terms on a three-year entry-level contract (2018-19 to 2020-21) with forward Alexandre Alain. #GoHabsGo

He appears to be decent and he's most definitely French. What's to lose?

I was about to joke about how the only thing to lose is a spot in the top line but then I realized just saying “top line” was better than my actual joke

People will be confused when we refer to AA. Are we talking about Alexandre Alain or Andreas Athanasiou?

I think it's the norm for an entry level contract. I think at 22+ years old they can reduce it to 2 years, like Evans had.

So he'll follow in the footsteps on great Habs scholars like Ken Dryden, Joe Juneau, Louis Leblanc, Greg Pateryn and Dr. Mark Recchi?

He was invited to camp last year, habs did not offer him a contract. One year with Barré-Boullet boosted his numbers and I guess after the uproar caused by the signing of Barré-Boulet with Tampa it wasn't an option to not sign him.
