Ya, I didn't see us get many chances aside from Marners breakaway and maybe another 1 or 2...no real rebounds etc. It's too bad, sure we could have won but tough when were not creating much.

End of first period, I texted my buddy and said that the game will be decided by a single mistake - I hope the Leafs aren't the ones who make it.

We made two. They both ended up in the back of our net.

We didn't play bad last night. It was a very even game.

But nobody did anything to win it.

100% right. Nobody but Marner has stepped up. Like I said, no extra playoff gear.

How does that explain his basically point a game end to the season?

Yeah I don't buy he is hurt at all. It would be good if true I guess? No one on Toronto or Boston has as many shots this series as Matthews.

Im pretty sure it was stated that he wouldn't be fully healed until the offseason was it not? That is what would lead me to believe there is something else there.

playing softer teams that gave him space i guess

normally he dominates even when he has no space, one of the better players in the league in tight areas. since the mid point, nah. he's looked totally different. he's barely been using his shot too.

A playoff series is night and day different from regular season. They game plan each game on tendencies how to contain guys etc. The attention to details is exponentially higher.

They didn't let that line get much room and Hyman was the only one of the line fighting hard for ice.

We will find out when the season is over, but I don't like excuses. I can analyze the game and point out things that went well and players that played well but injuries, reffing and suspensions are just excuses.

Pittsburgh is not as good defensively, I believe that Leafs would have an easier go IMO
- Archaic

our defense would be run over by crosby and malkin.

we're not good enough right now.

it's ok. young core and we can make improvements.

I honestly think we'd have a better chance against Pitts than Boston, just the style we play. Their defense isn't half as tight and our forwards could take advantage. Pittsburgh is obviously a fantastic team, but they don't scare me as much as other teams. Boston is quite possibly the worst match-up we could have gotten and the team we would have had the hardest time against.

I still believe that out offense could run all over Pittsburgh as well, and that home ice advantage to start the series would have really helped our team. Better matchup for use IMO.

Matthews would be going head to head against the Crosby line in all situations. Not good.

if we want an easier matchup, we need to win the division.

his shot hasnt looked that heavy for a long time. remember when he used to snipe a goal every other game? he still kept scoring around the net but his shot has seemed off overall. could be wrong. we will see what they say once the season is done.

im guessing he has an arm, shoulder, or wrist issue or similar

Pretty sad when we are double shifting Johnsson and holding back guys off line 1 and 2.

I think Babs would line-match with Kadri on that assignment, don't you?

Unlikely, more likely he'd be against Malkin, and he has succeeded with that in the past.

He would, and having home ice advantage he'd be able to get that matchup for the first two games.
