Gards with a terrible pinch.

Brought back memories of kaberle in the playoffs.

I'm (frank)ing done with him.

Sorry, did I say 6? I meant 8..

Oh, that clearly was a joke.

Exactly the same thing happened. They still got their ass kicked in the 1st round. Nobody is going to care about it if they make the picks and prospects they get in return count. All the young players getting more ice time would have been happy.
- Unholy_Goalie

We also have to wait to see if they let all 3 walk. If we re-sign any of them, that obviously changes why we kept them.

Hindsight is 20/20. If we won this series (as management clearly thought we were capable of doing) and maybe even made a series of it in round two, say at least made it to Game 7 against Tampa, and JVR got 4 goals and 8 points in that span, we'd be singing a different tune. Ditto with Bozak. they would have been valuable assets for the playoff push.
Easy to say it was a bad idea after being eliminated in at best 6 games in round one when they were almost invisible.

- UsernameUnknown

It's not hindsight. I could see this coming months ago and they should have been able to as well. It was easy to see. If your dad had 3 balls, he'd be a pinball machine. But he isn't. The Leafs didn't have a real chance this year and they should have sold off the guys that are going to walk for free now to recover assets.

I said it was a bad idea after the trade deadline, wasted assets don't help your team long term.

They would have been UFAs so they could come back.

Poor Marleau San Jose sweeps the Ducks and Toronto is about to get bounced. I hope his 18 million helps him sleep at night.

He pulled the exact same pinch off probably 10 times that game. Every D even Polak does the half wall pinch, Dermott got burned on one too.

Even worse if they resign any of them, take the cap space and run.

You and that damn crystal ball. You had no idea any more than any one of us how this was going to play out. Leafs have just as much chance as a lot of teams that made the dance.

No, they really didn't. Plenty of evidence to prove it, which I did, on a daily basis.

Might have to take Bozak back simply for lack of better options. Komarov can (frank) a flagpole.

That’s cool I like Tampa, very likable team,
Bruins can beat them.

He can have his 18 million and go back to San Jose if he waives his NTC. Rather have the cap space anyway.

Gotta make that pinch when you forward support in a tied game.

Down 1, dermott had to take the risk.

They can indeed. This Bruins team *if healthy* has the horses to go all the way.

I think Tampa is beatable but I don't think anyone in the East gets through Pittsburgh.

"Andersen's tired" is not evidence. "Boston plays the right way" is not evidence. "but but but.. Crosby and Malkin!!" is not evidence. These are opinions. They serve your point, I get it, but you're not some omniscient god. Settle down.

Edit: Reply or don't, I'm done with you. You're insufferable and you leave behind 6 pages of cow poop every night when you come in here, and it drives me crazy, and I have no intention of being the culprit for it this time.

I never said I was but the evidence was clear as day for anybody willing to be objective about their actual chances. Andersen facing the most shots in the league and then playing like poop is not a coincidence. The Bruins statistical advantage was not a coincidence.

I did my best to be objective and believed (still do) that if the Leafs played like they're capable of playing, they can beat Boston. I didn't foresee them winning the cup this year either. I'll just leave it at that.

Boston of last year, they may have beaten. But not the Bruins of this year. They've got a system going and it's the exact counter to what the Leafs do. Like I said before, it's like the Leafs are in an MMA fight and they don't know how to fight on the ground but that's exactly where the Bruins brought them and they're 1 game away from the rear naked choke.

And overall, when it comes to succeeding in the playoffs, it takes a long time to put the whole thing together. And some teams, play their cards wrong, and end up being "pretenders" like Ottawa, Vancouver, San Jose, Washington, St. Louis etc.

Yeah MMA analogies really don't help solidify your point.
