No gullsie..

Leafs fans shoilx be furious that they squandered this opportunity with Bergy out. They won game 3 and they were physical. Tonight is just another Thursday night at the ACC.

They should... make sure he’s a nice guy with no history though. Sorry Johnsson you’re up. Please crosscheck Marchand in the ear.

Great optimism and I get it I've been a fan for over 30 years... but this team as we all knew isnt built to go for a deep run... especially our defense.. at this time I don't believe we can come back, they've had our number all series and actually bury their chances while we look for the pretty passes Instead of shooting and constant turn overs.. loss tonight series is over.
- LeafsFan23

To be fair, it's not about optimism inasmuch as it's about not letting the negativity take over. It's so . . Leaf-y. "Well, that's it. So much for this year! Jerks! I hope your golf cart gets hit by lightning, ya bum!" . . and so on.

Granted, I doubt anyone is feeling overly confident right now!

I also go with the fact that as much as I had thought they could beat Boston, I'm realistically happy with the progress as I think of this as the real year 2 of progress.

That was the best 2 periods I've seen Toronto play overall in this playoffs or last years. They didn't capitalize now they're looking at going home. No excuses that's hockey.
- Blazed

sabres are going through the same growing pains . sucks . we both expect the world . but the experience and chemistry the other teams have wins it .

The turning point for me was the PP. when 3 leafs on 2 bruins in the corner. And the bruins come out with the puck.

I bet they outshot their opponents in both the first and second period like 10 times all season and did it easily this period. Entered the zone easily, had a strong cycle game and didn't have a second chance on Anderson more or less until the third. It is what it is.

If only they played in Owen Sound tonight. Marner would’ve had 5 points.

What I get from this thread. Leafs need to turtle and hope the other team doesn't get any good chances with zone time shift after shift. The leafs aren't getting the bounces off the defense in the net, or a pass getting deflected 3 times and someone ending up with an empty net like Boston has.
Toronto has controlled the play, be it Boston letting them or not, playing like this won't win a series. It will catch up to them eventually.

This is frustrating. What happened to the fight in the Leafs in the first?
- Aaron_85

I feel like a lot of poop luck has taken it's toll on the team. I can't make excuses, they don't deserve to be winning but fuuuck we outplayed them half the game and couldn't buy a goal and it's been like that all series. Boston should be winning these games, but it shouldn't be nearly this frustrating. I'm really disappointed.

Playing much worse than you did in the first two periods is a bold strategy
- markmark

What about not taking shots? All very bold, let’s see how it pays off here cotton.

I'm aswell happy with the progress of this team we broke several records this year. I just wish we could of did something to improve this defense this junior hockey style constant turnovers gets frustrating to watch over and over.. I'm hoping that, that's our number focus going to the off season and draft to upgrade our d. But for the season our team offensively played great.

Yea, it happens. Sometimes it happens in the playoffs. Does that mean the team needs to be blown up? (frank) no. First two games literally everything Boston put on net bounced of something and game them either a tap in or bounced in. Leafs have done that all game and hasn't happened. Three lucky goals early in a game? Not many teams come back from that on road against one of the best teams in the league. People just need to calm the (frank) down
