If they sign Doughty, it will be long term and 10+ I can't say I like that idea. If he stays you can expect Tofolli and Martinez to be shopped.

If a deal is made I would think that he would fetch quite a bit, like a solid tops 6 F or top 4 D-man, a high prospect and a 1st... I also think in this case Martinez goes too in the deal

Drew is a UFA at seasons end. You might get Nichushkins rights and a first or Seguin + for him. But you've been celebrating 4/20 early if you think you are getting all 3 for doughty at this point. Drew has stated he's not taking a discount this time around. He expects to be paid as top tier dman either on an LA team that has either missed or scraped into the playoffs the past few years, or on a team he expects to compete soon. Doughty has all but said he's not signing a 8 year close to top deal and doesn't expect Karlsson to either. They plan to hit the FA market next year and change the how dman are paid for the future.

I'm glad the Penguins have two generational players that actually play like one at a good price.

The Leafs right side D is BRUTAL and the addition of Doughty would certainly solidify that D Corps. While last night's game 4 loss resulted in missed opportunities and bad decisions by Left D, the right D on both 2 on 1s that resulted in Bruins goals were played terribly, legitimately mistakes that Bantam D make. All that being said, I feel that the emergence of Johnsson and Kapannen, in addition to the Marlies depth and the quality of their drafting at the wing position afford the Leafs the depth to part with Nylander in their pursuit of Doughty. I feel there would still have to be a package of some sort and don't know what that would look like, but the meat and potatoes of the deal would have to be Nylander, otherwise, if I'm LA, I'm not even listening.

Marner, Reilly, Liljegren, Brown, Dermott, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Kapanen straight up for Doughty might be a starting point. Leafs would need to sweeten the pot with another 17 first round picks.
