I do watch games. Then after I see what people much smarter than me have tracked shot totals wise. Sometimes the goalie stand on his head. Sometimes the other team gets a luck bounce. All part of the game. Gotta love people just saying shot attempts don't matter though.

Also have to love people saying that quantity of shots matters more than quality.

Really? 'Cause I look at it like, Vegas, Winnipeg and Nashville are the better teams, who are playing tough, physical and limiting their mistakes. That's why they're winning. Not sure why you need numbers and equations to see it. And this is coming from a math guy.

The Corsi Gods Love Corsi when it’s accurate but when it’s wrong then comes the “well it depends on the goalie” “we’ll it depends on x-y-z” “we’ll its not always accurate” etc etc etc. The teams that have won so far are just the better teams. I bet the Rangers teams under Torts had TERRIBLE Corsi and made it to the ECF.

That wasn't a dig at you Tom. Just that I like watching and don't care too much about the stats afterwards. The ones I like are pretty obvious. Score, goals, assists, saves

I wasn't trying to engage in an argument, though. I was asking sincere questions in an attempt to learn more about it and decide whether my feelings against reliance on stats (NOT the tracking of them) are justified.

I think there is some sort of middle ground. At the NHL level shots against will usually dictate the other team playing better. Don't think it dictates wins and losses as accurate though. Although there is probably a higher percentage that the team who gets more shots will win more games.

I just think there are to many variables in hockey. Hot goal tender, luck, defensive systems that keep other teams to the outside and don't care how many shots are given up, big early leads and on and on

I think we'd all be better off if the Rangers spend more time in the offensive zone than they have the last two years that's for sure

I was just looking at Team Canada for the World's. Thinking, "Holy poop! Canada has this one in the bag!"

I don't remember anything profound last week.

The 28th needs to get here soon, I'm getting jitters

At least you aren't flummoxed by the NHL Draft Lottery like I am.

I'm just getting excited! I honestly don't care what happens too much. Even if we get bumped down, we should still walk away with a really good player. So, I'm looking at that as being the worst that can happen.

I still don't know what the rules/odds are. I'm just praying for a 1-3 place

Corsi conversations are really boring.

I prefer to play "let's make a trade" with random players for entertainment.
