No push back from this team. Why is there no push back? 10-1 in the last two games. For a team GM'd by a player who hated to lose!?

No push back.

Pathetic.

And i think Provorov will be better then Carlsson.

There is not much in FA i want unless they would go big and try for Tavares. I wouldn't be totally against a vet guy like Antione Roussell depending on price and term. Can kill penalties and bring a physical presence if you move on from Simmonds.

- J35Bacher

Yeah, I'd be wary of Roussel, he's good on the PK but brings little offense and I think he's going to end up signing for more years and more cash than he's worth. At the right price and term, I do like him, but I see him as a 4th line PK specialist and agitator more than a guy who can take a regular top 9 shift.

I don't think you give a guy who's NOT going to win you a Cup another chance.

Find someone who will.

I'm not a Hakstol fan. But he was the hand picked nobody for Hextall. Hextall likes the job Hak has done with some of the kids. I don't like some of his coaching tendencies but he's not a (frank)ing magician....his veteran depth forwards and 3rd pairing d is very weak. There should be as much blame on the GM as there is on the coach. Hak didn't sign Elliot, Nueverth and trade for Mzarek...that's on the guy steering the ship.

So would I, but I really doubt, unless you want to seriously overpay, the Caps move him to a Metro team.

Yup, and in all honesty, I think Patrick, the youngest player on the team, has been their best player in this series.
- BiggE

Yep! You expect rookie mistakes. Hey, I expected a bubble team that would fall just short of the playoffs. Making them is gravy....give the kids an experience in humility. But for them to go out like THIS??? No Fight?

Unacceptable.

Nice try, but there is no way they are going to spend 8 million on Carlsson when they have to extend Provorov after next season. They need to move vets on D, not add them. I would be very interested, depending on cost and term, in going after Riley Nash to be the 3C though.
- BiggE

Well after next season you have 14 million coming off the books with Simmonds, Lehtera, Raffl, Weal, not counting the 5 million for tendies coming off... Provorov's extension can come out of that. Laughton and Konecny get their bridge contracts to keep costs down. Fill out the bottom 6 with 1-2m guys. Then AMac and Gudas come off the books the year after next, would be my plan. You pretty much have a top 9 and a nasty top 4 all locked up.

Not saying the Flyers offense looked great really at all, but when you try an get something going and your goalie let's in early goals it has to be pretty morale killing.

I believe at one point in the game last night the Flyers spent like 3 minutes non-stop in the Penguins zone hammering shots at Murray, only for the Penguins to take the puck, go down ice and score on an easy shot.

The guy steering the ship is Hakstol. The guy supplying the ship is Hextall. And unfortunately, the ship is the Titanic, and Hakstol just hit a massive iceburg.

Might. But what do people actually think you would need to give the Rangers for Henrik? Who again are in the metro.

I think if the Caps loose you could see some big changes finally.

Here is a question. Everyone seems to want Hakstol gone. If the Caps moved on from Trotz would you go after him? Everyone loves him it seems

That's not accurate at all. This team was not billed a contender or even close to that this year. They might even be a year ahead of where they should be in development.

I'd take Trotz over Hak every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I've had my fill of Hakstol.

I'm fine with where they are in the overall scheme of things when it comes to development. What I'm not fine with is getting outscored 10-1 in back to back home playoff games while just meekly rolling over with their legs up in the air. I'm also not fine with the head coach stubbornly rolling Brandon Manning out there when he's got a better, younger, mobile and physical replacement sitting in the press box. That last point is the one that is really infuriating.

I think the problem with Hakstol is there is no emotion at all. Not saying he needs to be Torts on the bench but tap some guys on the shoulders get them going show them that you care about them. I have not seen that once from him. Tough to be motivated every night when the Coach stands behind the bench with a blank stare on his face all the time.

So a pat on the pants will make Voracek show up? Maybe if he hugged Simmonds more he would actually play a little better? Damn a reach around on Elliott and he might make a big save.

I don't care if he is emotional or not on the bench.

Having had a day to digest last night my frustration with Hexy is just as high.

I'm embarrassed to be a Flyers fan today. 10 - 1 in both home games. Not a single ounce of emotion from any of them. Crosby misses an open net in game 2 and smashes his stick meanwhile we just keep passing it back to the point , shoot then shrug and skate out of zone all while waiting for every shot to go in against Elliot.

Its like eating plain oatmeal.

Ill take this season as an improvement since they finished 3rd , made the playoffs, saw more of the prospects and had huge years from different players.

That doesn't mean we cant be frustrated with this playoff scenario.

This is a big off season in my opinion for Hexy..take steps to improve the team or I want him gone.
