You cannot remove the veteran brilliance and poise that is the Manning/Gudas pair from the lineup. For if you did, empires would crumble, angels would lament and the fragile mind of Dave Hakstol would implode.

I guess I should just be happy hagg is getting in. He deserves it as I thought he was a solid contributor this year. Man, this series desperately needs a healthy morin to provide some jam on the back end.

I'm really looking forward to some dead weight leaving this offseason, which will open spots for some young players on d and the bottom 6.

#1 thing I want to see tonight is a team giving it their all and playing smart hockey. No bull poop penalties, no rolling over, no complete disarray. Give us 100% effort and finish this game with everything on the table. If they do that we can wake up tomorrow getting ready for game 6 or at least ending the season with worthy effort. So far it’s been very disappointing. Pens are on another level. The flyers are also on a another level so far. One that is below what they are capabale of, win or lose.

The good news: Started work on my new cd last night, got down the basic guitar tracks and lead vocal tracks on 4 songs.

The bad news: Well, we still have to play the (frank)ing Penguins tonight.

Of course, the Bruins beat the Leafs without Bergeron. If I didn't hate the Leafs as much, if not more, than I hate Boston, I'd be even more pissed off about it.

Honestly, if Hextall isn't going to fire Hakstol, I hope he sends him a big (frank) you by not re-signing Manning and trading Gudas. Dear Lord, let me see this D for 18-19:

Ghost can move up to the top pair on 4 on 4 situations and when you are looking to generate more offense and Morin can pair with AMac for the PK. And, if Hak wants a RH shot so badly, Myers can replace AMac by mid season!

My problem is that I feel like, except for Morin's injury, 5 of those 6 should ALREADY be playing. And if Morin was healthy it would be all 6.

Hockey is hockey. Sure the level and speed are faster, but in the end its the same game.

As I said, punishing a player for his youth even if he is playing better than the vet is counterproductive.

Exactly. At this point, Provorov and Ghost are veterans and you'd still have AMac at the start of 18-19 too. Hagg and Sanheim both will have a season of NHL hockey under their belts, and even Morin, while still a rookie, will at least have played 3 pro seasons. There is no reason or need to bring back Manning, or to not explore trading Gudas in the offseason.
