Giroux is nearly a point per game player in the PLAYOFFS
- Doctor DOOM

So then he stays and the others go. You know what you get for keep repeating something that doesn't work? Another poop sandwich that we've been fed recently.

G/Jake/Simmer have proven to be a bad core now. You need to do something about that.

Yes. I said that I want to hold onto all 5 of those players.

That is exactly what I said.

- jmatchett383

Ok then tell me who on my list you are keeping? I bet it comes down to G Jake and Simmer. And we eat another poop sandwich in a series against real competition.

Numbers wise my list looked ugly. Skill/future usage wise it was a swift kick in the nuts to fix the current team while not killing the future.

I would trade Voracek, but not for the sake of trading him, and not for a bag of picks unless it include a top-5 pick.
- jmatchett383

I wouldn't be actively shopping Jake but were someone to come and knock my socks off with an offer I'd definitely be intrigued but no way am I trading the captain.

if the caps ride holtby maybe grubuer (sp?) becomes available because he clearly wants to be a no1 and deserves to be. maybe the kings decide to rebuild and woupd entertain a trade for quick? still wish we had bob

for bottom 6 if we could get riley nash that would be amazing and hopefully a kid or two from lehigh can step up

in regards to our stars, i just dont know. how can they play do well in the regular season and so badly in the playoffs. its just embarassing

Lehtera is hands down the worst contract in the league.
Each point he scored comes out to $587,000 per.

I'd keep Elliott as a backup.

I'd keep AMac as a #6.

I wouldn't trade 2 of Giroux/Jake/Simmer, but I'd be okay with either of the last 2, if the deal helps the team.

I'd be okay keeping Manning as a 7th defenseman, but I don't trust Hak to not make him a top-6.

That's slighlty worse than Martin Hanzal ($475K per) but Brooks Orpik is worse than Lehtera's.

Assuming that centers are distributed fairly evenly, the 62nd center goals leader had 19 goals. That list also includes players who didn't play center (like Giroux). So if they can get 15-18 goals out of a 3rd line center, that would be very impressive.
- jmatchett383

perhaps that is a lofty goal (no pun intended), but the point is that centerman needs to lead the charge of a legitimate scoring line while actually playing great defense.

in all honesty, they have one in Couts already....they could just use a 2C once Patrick has come into his own as a true top center in the league!? lol

that doesnt mean i wanna trade them all
i would trade simmonds, not resign any of the UFAs, try to sign a 3c (i would target riley nash), not sign an d men because we have morin, haggx and myers , and see if we can pry someone like grubaur from the caps or aaron dell from the sharks until hart is ready. keep elliott or nuevy as backup, and either explore a trade or bury the other. mrazek isnt coming back (although im still a believer so i wouldn't be too upset if he did i think hes a good goalie but maybe the mid season change was hard idk)

I keep thinking Simmonds or Voracek to Montreal in some deal. Especially if they move Pacioretty.

To Montreal: Voracek, STL 1st runder(2018)
To Philly: Galchenyuk, Montreal 1st rounder(2018, top 4), Paul Byron, Montreal 4th rounder.

With the Montreal 1st rounder you probably get one of Tkatchuk, Zadina or Svechnikov.

Does it work? Galchenyuk would look nice on a line with Patrick. Byron can kill penalties and has great speed.

Giroux - Couturier - Konecny
Lindblom - Patrick - Galchenyuk
Raffl - Vorobyev - Simmonds
Byron - Laughton - Aube-Kubal

If your selecting in the top 4 maybe one of those guys earns a spot at camp.

I don't know. Just bored and wondering what could change without really throwing off the draft and develop plan.

We look worse today than we did a few years back against a Washington. We’re going backwards.

Get rid of the vets and let the kids play.

The only difference between then and now is that Neuvirth played out of his mind in that series.

Any of those 3 probably make the team...but I am not doing this deal if I am MTL unless that 4th becomes a 5th

I don’t think so. I just think the Flyers played better all around. Couldn’t score but kept the games closer than this.
