So, essentially, blow it up?
- jmatchett383

Damn close to it. But really with the effort level being shown by this core is it really a bad choice?

Except for G or Jake. That is about what I called for at the forward spots. Most of my changes are 3 D men and Goalies also. Plus changing the PK.
- dragonoffrost

So we're in year 3 of the rebuild, and the plan is to start a rebuild? What are we, the Sixers?

Yes. I'm not saying that some major shake-ups aren't needed, just that I don't think that a 70% roster turnover in one season is a good idea.

G/Jake/Simmer have proven to be a bad core now. You need to do something about that.

reality is if you make that many changes including core guys next year is going to be a waste of a year just based on that. as I said in an earlier post I see them needing a 3C, 1 or 2 top 9 wings depending on what they do with Simmonds and 1-2 4th line guys.

Giroux-Coots-TK
??-Patrick-Vorcek
Lindblom-??-?? (simmonds or replacement)
Raffl? - Laughton - ??

- nastyflyergirl

Exactly -- 3C is crucial. I think most of us would agree that if you can get the right return for Simmonds, you do that.

Read's gone. I will be stunned if they carry Weise on the NHL roster next season. I don't think Leier's future is with the Flyers.

That's as many as five forwards they could need to replace. Not saying that all of those players are important, but my gosh.

If they go even more beyond the surface, I mean, yikes.

That would start approaching "rebuild" territory, and we're supposed to be kinda beyond that, right?

Look again at the list I gave it had 3 goalies that realistically one of the three is back. I just can't choose one of them. Three Defensemen who again probably 1 is back, AMac. And Forwards that really the only major change is G or Jake. It's not really gutting the team.

Morin has to make this team out of camp next year or someone is claiming him on waivers that means Manning or Gudas should immediately be sent packing. If Myers can have a good camp the other should be good as gone also.

Can we get a couple young forwards from Lehigh for line 3? Maybe.

I am curious what their zones starts looks like. But yet again, I don’t feel like putting in the work. Sorry hak

-Edit: 5v5 Zone Starts-
Sanheim: 17 OZ 17 NZ 15 DZ
Manning: 3 OZ 21 NZ 12 DZ

Apparently Hak loves how "heavy" Manning/Gudas plays. Jesus christ.

I see one gone at the draft. Just a feeling. Most likely Simmonds. Least likely Giroux.

I don't think that's been proven at all. Giroux was 2nd in scoring and Voracek was 15th. They're both on good deals. If it wasn't for Giroux they probably wouldn't be in the playoffs to begin with. Only so much carrying you can do. With Simmer I could see the reasoning for trading. The other two I think you'd be insane to trade.

PLAYOFFS... Reg season means JACK poop.

This core has had one playoff run and that was sheer luck due to a major choke job by higher seeds.

3 goalies, 3 defensemen, and 4 forwards. So okay, 11/20 players, only a 55% roster turover, not 70%. Still not on board.

If you want to get rid of a even 6-7 and one of them is a "core" member, then fine. But I think more than about a 40% roster turnover will have use remembering the grass on the other side.

Manning/Gudas drag the team down like anchors. Anchors are heavy. Therefore, Manning/Gudas are indeed heavy.

well playoffs aside, during the season the disappointments have been Weal and Simmonds. I believe Simmonds is hurt and he has had a really good Flyers career so I give him the benefit of the doubt. my willingness to replace him falls on his contract demands and the return. I wouldn't give him away. Coming into the year I think we all knew Filppula was just a season and a half placeholder and that on a true contender he isn't a good enough 3C. I'm good with Laughton on the 4th line. I just want to see a young speedy line. been saying that forever.

Ok then you are willing to run Gudas/Manning again next year? Or Elliott/Neuvirth/Mrazek?

Sorry I'm done with that trash heap.

I would trade Voracek, but not for the sake of trading him, and not for a bag of picks unless it include a top-5 pick.
