Don doesn’t need any competition as a greeter, there’s plenty of construction work available...
- 1970vintage

Tell me about it. We can’t find consultants and contractors. Everyone’s too busy. What happened to all those construction workers that had to flee Alberta? We thought that influx would reduce construction costs and increase availability but it hasn’t at all.

I hope we draft Tkachuk for Bo's line

Fill in the blanks 20 mil in cap space and assets to trade. Get creative Jimbo

Throw Leipsic on that third line. Two fast wingers is never a bad idea.
Sutter centering the rookies. Both decent third lines.

Like myself they got work at home and stuck with it for less money. Home every night is great.

You’re probably right. Also, I think the cost of living in the lower mainland is just too prohibitive for most construction workers.

Tell me about it. They have me training all these young hot shots that have to start out as greeters or stock boys prior to being shipped off to corporate. These millennials are useless

You just have to make them feel like they're making a difference. Tell them every day what a great job they're doing and you will be golden

So now you are using staying healthier as a bad thing

Screw you Granlund you should not have been healthier

And why does he get more minutes? Maybe because he is a better player? Same salary .Out against other teams top lines not 4 th lines

That would have made 8 more hits ooooooooohhhh big difference

lol no doubt. Funny thing is after the last economic downturn here in AB no one really wants to go back to work in Oil or construction as they are realizing it's just too unpredictable. I gave up on manufacturing in 2008 and never looked back. It was very good to me for a time but having a gov't job now in my municipality is the way to go...man I should have done that when I was 18 could have retired with full pension by the time I'm 48

Last full time tech position we had with the City here we had over 300 applicants most with third or fourth class power engineering. They just don't want to head back to the Oil industry can't blame them.

The housing industry will pick up here it's showing signs but super slow. Plus the NDP gov't have ruined a lot of attitudes and opportunities here.

I'm not personally hiring them. I do it for the Ministry of Health. Giving out contracts to your hockey team buddies is not exactly within the public tendering rules.

We can get in trouble for things like that; see City of Montreal/Quebec Provincial Government

Same for me. Work my whole life in the private sector, when I started a family I decided I needed to get me a pension. So I went to work for the Province. Best career move I've made.

There is a Catch 22 to working for the Gov for too long. Yes you can have a full pension at 48 but you can't collect until you are over 60. I have a co-worker in the same boat. Been working for the same health authority since he was 17. Now 50 he's eligible for full pension (or close to it) but can't collect until 60ish. If he continues to work until he's 60 his pension will decrease each year for the next 10.

He's pissed because he can't afford to retire just yet.

If he hasn't saved enough to bridge a 10 year gap until he receives a full pension....well, that's on him. Poor planning.

Forward at Draft/Baer Bo Brock
Dahlen UFA/Ganger Pettersson
Leipsic Gaudette Jake
LE Sutter Guance/Granlund

How I see it shaking down with JB, not necessarily the best. I think Baer will get traded if they fall into 2 or 3, or Tkachuck drops. I like Leipsic: if Gaudette can grow into that role that'll be a good, fast third line. Fourth line all the goals.
