Yep and ..

Goaltending will make or break the season . Also need the competent back up .

Will ullmark be the #1 ? or backup ? Good chance they shuffle back and forth with whoever we sign.

Back in the day:
Having a competent goalie gives you a mental advantage. These guys must hate playing with these 2 turds in net. Maybe even lose the love of the game.

I know 4 season ticket holders. None of them female dog. They're all very pragmatic about their investment and where the team is. Boss seems to be pretty understanding of the whole thing.

I think schopp and his ilk just female dog. I would go a step further and say that people without seasons usually have louder opinions about "the Pegulas stealing your money"

Lots of season tickets are held by companies and written off. Not just the suites

You're assuming a relocation. Never happen. As exhibits A-C Arizona, Carolina, Florida.

Tickets are going to be hot. Sabres are part of our fabric.

Were about to start a 8 year run with jack.

If there were only 5,000 people going to the game, he would have every right to move

You also need the Sports package to get Fox Sports 1. It doesn't deter people from tuning into the Baseball playoffs in October. The league needs to give people a reason to watch, and it just doesn't exist. The networks paid, or are paying, their $2 billion for the TV rights They're locked in. Their job now is to maximize profits (or minimize losses). The fact is USA's ratings for Suits is just as good or if not better than Tampa-New Jersey. The same goes for CNBC and whatever new show they are airing right now. Sports fans will watch Golf when Tiger Woods is competitive whether Golf is on CBS, Fox, the Golf Channel or HLN, not just golf fans. The same goes for the NBA when LeBron James is playing. It's up to the league to compel viewers to watch. Merely putting it on a channel in the 100s instead of one in the 400s won't get that done, and NBC Universal knows that.
- buffalofan19

Baseball can afford to do that though. That's my point. A league that struggles for ratings can't add obstacles and expect results. It's a fatalistic approach. "(frank) it, no one's going to watch anyway, so let's just put it on a property that only diehard sports fans will have."

They do a piss poor job of advertising for hockey. I see more commercials for F1 than I do for hockey. The only time I see commercials for hockey is when I'm watching hockey. I see commercials for F1 all over the place.

There are a lot, but it's not the majority, not in a city like this, which simply just doesn't have that big of a corporate footprint. The reality is the Sabres are the only game in town after the turn of the new year, and everyone knows it, and so do the Pegulas. That's not to say they aren't trying to win, but it does nothing to change the urgency.

That's what happened with me too. I was onboard, and then one game this year, I just went "nah. This isn't it"

Yeah, I'm not saying they all do. I'm just saying the ones that do and continue to cut the checks are stupid and aren't thinking logically.

I get it to an extent, but at what point is it "shame on me"?

That way they get to have it both ways. They get to female dog and keep their seats for when we are inevitably good again so they can say "I never gave up!"

Yep, and if people wanted to change it, they'd have to take drastic action, which at this point they're unwilling to do. I don't know it's kind of like female dogging about the person you elected, that they suck, but will still elect them next time. And I'm not talking about the current situation, that poop has been going on forever.

I guess some people just need to female dog about things. I guess I just need to female dog about people who female dog about things.

I see the ads on NBC owned channels all the time (USA, NBC, etc.). I rarely see any cross advertising because its expensive. The reality is, their ratings aren't suffering. The league's problem is that the game just isn't that interesting right now. It's not giving up. It's realizing the product you have and maximizing it with all your other product offerings. When someone pays you $2 billion over 10 years for a product, you allow them to do whatever they want.

The NBA went through the same thing when Jordan retired until LeBron James finally came into the league. Golf ratings went down when Tiger disappeared. The NHL needs to give people a reason to watch, and right now there is very little. That is the real issue here.

Got it . Just enough interest to keep it interesting to keep em coming back. Marketing is what a used car salesman is . And the fans are gullible.

It's a decision by the fans. This town has had a waiting list for season tickets, and it's gonna happen again. A fair number probably realize that getting out now might be a bad idea

Seems everyone blames the D on this team . Isn't the goalie the last defense ? When is he held accountable. When you cringe any time the puck is shot from in our zone , it's time to fix it .

I will say that anyone that has sold there tickets for $6 is going to want a mint for tickets, when were good. Especially the scalpers.

I'd rather give them to family and friends

Wonder what a playoff seat would go for against toronto after not sniffing the playoffs for 8 years?
