In some areas. Others no. In totals, sure, but only Scandella and Risto played more than 59 games on our blue line

are you and fitz the same person? lol

It's not lazy, I don't know the NHL trade market. I couldn't tell you for a second what ROR's value is, who is available, who might become available a month from now, 2 months from now etc.

Maybe they can swing a deal where they get Galchenyuk from MTL, maybe Trouba and the Jets can't work out an extension. Maybe the Oilers pull another classic and decide to move on from Klefbom. Or maybe there's a whole set of other players that could quietly be available

I'm not saying who you think they CAN get. I'm saying who would you WANT them to get.

Born and raised in Buffalo, if I lived there still I would be at the games win or lose.

This Kucherov hit is evidence that there isn't a fix. Good teams get the benefit of the doubt, and always will.

That's not how it works.

If you have poopty seats in the corner, sure you can probably jump back in and grab those seats or similarly crappy seats.
If you have seniority and lifetime seats, you bite the bullet for years.
A season ticket strike isn't going to change anything.
The Sabres are going to be good, and when they are, the prices will be ridiculous.

I really think we contend for a playoff spot thru March next year.
The sabres want their tickets back so they can charge outrageous prices themselves. Instead of season ticket holders making a margin.
For the past 8 years the Sabres have been brutal, but maintained 16,000 sth. Now on the fridge, they want their seats back.

Tanked terrible on purpose this year
Offer nothing to sth
Do zero upgrades to the arena
Continue to not clean the bathrooms ect.

There must be a reason?

I'm not complaining, I like going to the games

- Boss34

Then I'm not talking about you. Like I said before, if you just like going to games, then by all means.

I'm talking about the Schoop's of the world who do nothing but female dog about it and yet keep going back year after year.

Upgrades are coming this year or next. They were talking about it a couple of weeks ago.

I beg to differ on the season ticket strike. You're guaranteed income. You're like gold to them. Just because they don't treat you like that doesn't negate the fact that without you they're in a world of poop. They don't care if you show up or not, they'd rather you did and bought concessions and merch, but it's not the end of the world if you don't, because an empty seat doesn't require anything. Fewer people mean less maintenance hours. And they get the same price for the seat regardless if you're there or not, but when you have an empty, not paid for seat, that's a big problem.

That is literally the only way to change their behavior, especially because they're a small market team.

same answer, i dont know who is available but based on speculation.

Klefbom
Galchenyuk
Trouba
De Haan
Hamilton
Trevor Van Riemsdyk
Petry
Bjugstad
Seguin
Derek Ryan

Are all players i'd be interested in to varying degrees. Some you'd have to trade ROR/Risto for directly, some indirectly, and some are just stop gaps in case they trade those two for picks/prospects.

He had his best ever Corsi year up 4.4 points over last year, despite the team being much, much worse, he improved both for and against even taking into account the missed games he had 7 more for over his previous high in ~143 less minutes(that's not insignificant) and less against per minute, and he increased his percentage by the aforementioned 4.4, and the first time he's a positive relative player.

Again, I'm not asking you to judge the market, assume everyone is available. Just players you'd like to have. And try hard to view our players from the outside(most teams' fans think their players are worse than they really are). I'm not asking for a ton of research, because it's impossible to know who's available and what the cost is. Just a back of the napkin thing.

As far as ROR, yeah, I can see a bunch of moves that could make us better because we already have the requisite(likely) pieces. I've come around on that. But only if it actually makes us better, as in we get the best player now, or will be in the next year. I'm not doing a mid 1st and a 3rd best prospect.

I just don't see how trading Risto makes us any better at the moment. That might change halfway through the season, but right now, other than a lateral move for the sake of making a move doesn't do it for me.

I mean, it can't hurt. Who doesn't like pirogi? Al Qaeda, that's who.

Though they're selling these "high end" locally made pirogi in Wegmans now. They're like $13 a pound! I can't bring myself to try them out. They have a buffalo chicken one that sounds promising, but I just can't do it.

Those were the quickest back of the napkin names i could think of. I hate doing that though, I usually like putting in the research.

I think if risto's value is even 75% of what Adam Larsson's was, your team gets better short term and long term trading him to a team that still thinks like it's 2009

I don't want everyone gone . Team should have a captain next season . That might boost the game play of the team . and make the slackers step it up. This year was pretty much the coaching staffs and GM's evaluation year. I'm sticking with that excuse for now . They had the last gms misfits and habits to deal with on this team.
Training camp i expect to be much different .

I think it's a waste, because, almost all of the time, there's no way to accurately sift through misinformation, source's bias, and/or straight up competence or lack thereof. Not to mention the stuff that doesn't even get "leaked". No one knows, even GMs only have one side.

Unless a GM comes out and says they're looking to move "X". It's a fools errand.

And I'm certainly not trading Risto for a UFA to be. So using the only reliable way to see who's available is pretty much moot.

Risto no imo. to hard to replace him. he will get better. RoR ? for a top line winger at 2/3s the money ? hell yes .You can teach faceoff wins. Hard to teach aggressive hockey offence.
