Lehner as bad as he is, is a better goalie then Mason. Mason is awful.

Stop killing my buzz of watching another team, especially Buffalo screw it up and get another bad goalie.

Is it a dead cap hit when you used it to get Slavin for a 2nd round pick and Carrick?

I would never consider giving Carlsson 7M per year what an absolute waste of cap. He's good, but not 7M good. When you go that high you might as well go after Dougthy for 9-10M next year.

helluva lot of miles on Doughty for his age.

That reeks of another contract that some team is going to regret.

Stay the course, develop our own guys, unless a YOUNG #1 D is available in trade (think Seth Jones )

The difference between Boston and us is time.

Both teams have high end young talent, but most of Boston's best players, their core, are late 20's early 30's. The Leafs have the great young talent but our veterans are either A) past their best-before by a long way B) Have questionable heart (JVR) or C) Nazen Kadri.

The Leafs need to build into a contender, big dollar free agent signings for guys almost 30, or over, only hurts us.

If you can get a Norris trophy winner for free you have to think about it IMO. I am not saying I dont agree with term being an issue, but I just dont see any Norris trophy level prospects being traded to the Leafs.

Doughty and Carlsson are the same age, id rather go for Doughty then Carlsson was my point if they are going to spend big $ on a free agent D. Also, Doughty will play at a high level for at least another 7 years from now IMO.

What exactly is the problem with him posing with money?

He's young and a millionaire. He was in Vegas. He posed with money.

Why am I supposed to be outraged by this? How does this reveal some flaw in his character?

I think people are really under estimating the cost of acquiring high quality dman.

Hamonic cost a 1st and 2 2nds, McDonagh despite having JT Miller cost a fortune as well. Good roster player 2 1sts and 2 prospects.

Rielly will need someone to play right side next season it’s a step backwards to expect Hainsey one year older to try to replicate those minutes.

Outside of that they have Zaitsev, Carrick or Borgman.

It doesn't.

The flaw in his character is revealed by him choking people at a night club in Buffalo.

Have you ever been to Buffalo?

You'd want to kill people too if you spent more than a few days there.

Sabres forward Evander Kane will not face criminal charges following an investigation into a possible sexual assault after prosecutors said Friday there was no evidence to support the allegation.

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael Flaherty announced his decision after examining the facts, including forensic and toxicological test results, and closing a two-month investigation.

"No charge will be filed because there is no evidence to support the filing of a criminal filing of a criminal action," Flaherty said during a news conference. He added that no criminal complaint was ever filed.

This checks out. I've only driven through it and some knit wit teenage girl almost drove us of the road. She was about a quarter car length in front of us in the left lane and decides "well now seems like the opportune time to switch to the right lane without looking". Mind you it was also pouring. Don’t like judging a young guy and imply he can’t change his ways, but Bfygulien throwing his clothes in the shower or what not in Winnipeg is a bit of a red flag as well.

Nowhere’s near as egregious as assaulting people but I’d rather not add that to the young locker room.

Ha ha, Doughty had that quote about how no way Vegas is a better team than us at the end of the season. I remember a previous season where LA were on the edge of making the playoffs and he talked about how they wanted to get home ice advantage, then they missed the playoffs. He should probably quit lipping off at this point.
- Zezel

I never did like Doughty actually, but you know I would get over it if he put on a Leafs jersey.
