Or they're just waiting for the family to get back to them with the day and time of the funeral.
All kidding aside, it's pretty much impossible to gauge the severity of the injury from the video. It could be anything from just a mildly twisted knee that just needs some ice and a little rest to be fine, to a torn ligament that will need surgery. My guess is that if he is out for tonight's game, he's likely done for the series too.
Guess we'll know in about 10 hours or so. - BiggE
hopefully he's fine. Comes out scores a SH goal and sets up G for the eventual winner early in the 2nd period on way to a 6-3 win...think positive.

I have a gut feeling Coots plays tonight. Or, it could be the Habernero peach hot sauce I made and taste tested last night coming back to pay a visit soon.

Giroux currently has one more point in his last three playoff series than Crosby has in this one...."Crosby Sucks" |

So what's your point? Having PM orally fixate on Crosby could be the same for Giroux if the stats for Giroux were better? Or, the trip home from the unemployment office was faster than normal? |

it really doesn't matter what the Penguins are about if they are scored on first.....This is about what's good for the Flyers and their team. The Pens core is a playoff battled team, but the Flyers have the horse's to compete in this series....to me its been about goaltending and at this point Pitt's best players have vastly out played Flyers best players....but we are only three games in...so we'll see. Tonight is huge....(obviously) - landros 2
Yes agree. No one is taking this lightly from the Pens perspective by comments in our thread. It just seems the Pens have played bad early got behind on the scoreboard then woken up & come home strongly. It may be different for the Flyers, they may need that first goal to get confident, although being 1-0 up won't give me any great confidence either if the Pens score first.
To be honest & this might come back & bite me, but I really don't think Elliott has another great game in him for a few more games.
Murray appears to be more consistent but in saying that he can have a shocka after playing well. I'm hoping he gets back to a high level again & stays there. |

Hard to argue that the Flyers have the 2nd best goalie in this series....Murray has two cups in a row and really has shown to be a franchise goalie. If the Flyers go on to beat the Pens it won't be because the Pens took the flyers lightly, I t will be because the Best Flyer players get this thing going in the right direction. Tonight really is the gauge to see if that's going to happen.

I actually feel like he plays too.
Be nice if Simmonds shows a pulse tonight. |

I'm hoping Phil turns up tonite & lets a few rip. He to has been mia to date - or at least not to his usual high standard. If all the guns are firing on both teams holy poop it will be a game. |

I just wonder if one of the local specialties visited a Pens blog to cause them to have their dreck visit us. |

I dont like how they troll over here. You guys have been half respectful over on our blog, with the exception of after the game 2 win, but even then it wasnt that bad.
I keep coming over here looking for inside info on Coots...anything at all. IMO him missing the game is a bigger deal than Horny missing the game, though Horny has been huge for the Pens the past month. |

Well, so far they've ascertained that he's breathing, the leg is still attached and no bones are sticking through the skin.
So far, so good.

I agree with your assessment. Coots and Provorov are the absolute 2 "can't lose" players for the Flyers. Hornqvist, OTOH, is a good player and very important on the pp, but he's not one of your 2 most critical players to have on the ice. |

I meant today. Of course he was looked at yesterday. If there was swelling they may not have been able to get a great idea. Things can change over night. Today's observation and diagnosis is more important than yesterday's.
Imho, of course |

I'm not in favor of trolling other teams' blogs. That's playground crap.

I think they're equal in terms of what their teams miss. Hornquist being out is big. He's a killer on the power play. He plays hard every shift. Gets under the skin. The Flyers need to take advantage of his absence. |

Odd thought that popped into my head. Maybe just maybe Coots being out today makes G, Jake, and Simmer buckle down and play hockey and not take dumb penalties or play lazy at times. |
