Anyone hear updates on Couts yet? God I hope he plays, but there is something inside me that wants to see Patrick on the top line....

We would definately have to even out the lines though...

Giroux-Patrick-Simmonds

Weal-Lehtera-Raffl
Leier-Laughton-Read

I like Lindblom but he needs a full season to get to NHL speed like Patrick did, playoff time just isnt time to do that.

So what's going down with Coûts punters?

I don't blame Gudas, he was watching another play when Coûts tried to run him the (frank) over! What was he doing flying around the ice anyway? Did carry on a bit to after it.

It feels like the first goal is going to be huge....If they can actually get on the board they can get this bad boy tied up.

I'm guessing the team is going to keep Couturiers status under wraps until as close to gametime as possible.

The fact they have made no announcement yet is probably a good sign.

With this Pens team getting scored on first usually isn't a problem - a few years ago it was. Now in saying that you guys scoring first might be a key for the Flyers to play better, but from the Pens perspective it's no big deal to down by a goal. Also if Murray is in good form & gets scored on early, he 'can sometimes' close I think up & be really really good (or get 4 scored on him ).

Or they're just waiting for the family to get back to them with the day and time of the funeral.

All kidding aside, it's pretty much impossible to gauge the severity of the injury from the video. It could be anything from just a mildly twisted knee that just needs some ice and a little rest to be fine, to a torn ligament that will need surgery. My guess is that if he is out for tonight's game, he's likely done for the series too.

Guess we'll know in about 10 hours or so.

It's all smoke & mirrors, hes fine.

We had a coach tell a top player here to limp really heavily as if his ankle was broken the whole week before the grand final. It was everywhere all over the news that the player wouldn't be playing in the GF, but it was all BS. The player was fine & played. They admitted after the game it was all a ploy.

Smoke & mirrors.

it really doesn't matter what the Penguins are about if they are scored on first.....This is about what's good for the Flyers and their team. The Pens core is a playoff battled team, but the Flyers have the horse's to compete in this series....to me its been about goaltending and at this point Pitt's best players have vastly out played Flyers best players....but we are only three games in...so we'll see. Tonight is huge....(obviously)
