I really can't see it at all. So, we can't kill a penalty, our idiotic dman decides to put our 1c out til next year and the entire team goes through the motions tonight. Can't put hagg in for manning? What would it hurt?? Dear god. Pathetic and embarrassing top to bottom.
Really like all the young guys, but I'm on board with moving some vets like Simmonds. The dead weight coming off the books may really help us - Hextall271

And Konecny turning into a hell of a player. The way that Ghost has started to round into form in his all around game. The way Sanheim has looked since coming back up. I can go on.
The fact that they are getting demolished doesn’t change the fact that their future is bright. They are getting schooled by the two time defending champs, that is what it is. I wouldn’t throw away all the good from this season (98 points) and the lesson they are learning about the playoffs right now.
But that’s just me. - Flyers1218

Yeah, they didn't even make an effort to play playoff hockey tonight.
It's not just from facing the Pens. Watch how the Caps and Jackets are playing. Minnesota and Winnipeg. This effort flat out isn't good enough. |

Bingo!
Taking the plunge on a top forward or top dman who may be available in FA will not be the worst thing for this teams future. Sure salary cap has to be maintained, but do the Pens look like they care about the salary cap? They still trade every year, sign free agents every year. Since Hexy has been here what has he done to make any kind of splash in a notable free agent signing? - Buzzo
Easy....there was that Dale Weise signing.

It s hard to play with an edge when your PK is god awful. The Pens PK is aggressive because they rely on forwards who can actually have skating speed. The lack of skating speed I'm the bottom 6 is tough to watch.

That’s the only thing that sucks. They are getting embarrassed. But it’s teaching them that in the playoffs, if you don’t come to play, you get crushed.
They will be ready next season. |

Next year and the year after will really be the time we know where we are: real pity about the injuries to Myers and Morin. Don't know where they stand. We will see what we have in Sanheim - too early. Lets hope Rubstsov's disappointing year is an aberration. Lets see if Hagg can be a solid #3 or 4 for a contending club. Given how skinny Frost is, I dont know if 2 years will be enough for us to know his NHL potential. Lindblom has looked solid positionally but so was Bellamare. Lets hope that was an adjustment thing.
Luckily, a ton of money should open up soon... |

Painful. Sickening. Nauseating. Even worse that it comes at the hands of the Evil Empire (welfare-enabled franchise).
It will be a capital offense if Matt Read returns next year. For any price. Shameful performance on his part tonight. All that talk about not taking penalties and that hold was a disgrace. My God, if you're going to put them on the power play, it should be a felony or taking away a golden scoring chance.
Flyers broadcast team such a joke, too...Morganti repeatedly bemoaning the penalty and won't name Read specifically. |

I would agree. Not sure why many on this thread seem so pissed off. Was just a bad matchup. (somewhere CLB is chuckling) Very few people expected Philly to win this series. I could easily sense a Philly victory on friday that atleast pushes this to six. Should all in all be considered a good season for you guys. The young D learned their lesson and should be great next year |

But what are you gonna do? The league has changed. You can't find enough people who believe heavy hockey will win to fill a room
I hate losing like this. But it's the way the league is now. You don't hit people anymore with a purpose, for 60 minutes. You don't lean on people and pop the poop out of them for trying to walk out of the corner with the puck in your zone. You get a league vacation for laying some dude out for cutting across the middle with their head down |

Oh, so you have do something original to be a forward thinking organization. An organization who core principle is to draft and develop young players isn't forward thinking. That's backwards thinking because it's not original.
