I don't believe he thinks they're close. - FlyerFan16
I agree. But maybe this will stop the relentless onslaughts of reads, Lehteras, raffls, etc going forward. |

Young players have to step up and take advantage of opportunities. They won't be handed anything. |

Simmonds is so bad right now the simplest of hockey plays are a struggle for him.
3 losses and we look to have scored 1 goal in all 3 of them. That is pathetic.
It feels a lot like that Ottawa series awhile back where we couldn't score a goal either. |

This is the most important offseason hextall has had since taking over. Not sure how much time he gets if they don’t take a step forward next year - funmaster18
What does that look like, then?
100-plus points? Win a playoff round?
I agree with you. Not being argumentative. Just honestly don't know what we think a step forward is gonna look like, because I will tell you what: Boston, Tampa, Columbus and Toronto aren't going anywhere, and Florida is coming
NJ could regress some, and so could Washington
As we can see, Pitt might still be a problem 12 months from now
So by my count, that's four teams demonstrably better right now, three more that are right where we are. That's kinda where we are right now |

Manning is a quality NHL D man
Hakstol knows what he is doing

That’s not true I saw a documentary that shows Buzz Aldrin getting caught in the alley behind the moon landing set. I think the documentary was called Family Guy. Weird name but oh well. |

In my opinion what it doesn't look like is Hextall going out and spending on big ticket free agents. Hextall is smart enough not to overreact and to stay the course.

The only thing i feel warm and fuzzy about and looking forward to this off season is how well Patrick progressed thru the season and into the playoffs. I think he has been the best Flyer in the playoffs. I remember at start of season how slow he looked a lot of the time, you look at him now, and he is getting stronger and quicker and seems to be getting good scoring chances almost every game. |

Dave Hakstol needs to go. He’s the brilliant guy who:
Decided to roll with a rusty goalie in a playoff series.
Refuses to replace a POS like Manning with a solid young Dman like Hagg
Took TK off the top line
Can’t put together a working PK
(frank) him, (frank) his assistants, (frank) this soft as cream cheese team, and just (frank) everything right now! - BiggE

Patrick has definitely taken some huge steps
10+ years of him and Provorov is exciting to think about |

There has to be a reason why Hagg has been stapled to the bench..
Def great for his growth. - opeth_pa
Hagg has been stapled to the bench because of Gudas and somewhat Sanheim. Hak said he didn't like the pairing of Hagg and Gudas, and liked the way Sanheim and Amac were playing. He also wanted to keep a right handed D in there. He's just the odd man out |

How about the future for Konecny and Sanheim? He hasn't had a good series but Gostisbehere improved a bunch this year. Provorov is going to keep getting better. More additions such as Morin and any other young payer who can make the jump. Lindblom should take steps next year also.
