After a quick glance to his right, Gudas turned to look the opposite way. Coots had his head down and wasn't paying attention to where he was skating. Gudas had no way of knowing this.

Damn shame it had to happen but it has happened before in practices. Hopefully, it doesn't turn out too serious and he'll be out there on Wednesday.

That's BS. It's about the environment. Couturier is pro hockey player perfectly capable of avoiding a player, especially at the slow practice speed both players were skating at. Not even remotely close to game speed. The reason why Couturier doesn't is because he is expecting Gudas in practice not to turn there and throw a hip check into him. I'm calling Gudas out for one simple reason, he was careless there. In my opinion Couturier was not.
