At least the team drafting 3rd overall doesn't have to make the choice between what appears like the obvious 2nd and 3rd picks, thereby not having to worry about picking the wrong one.

Yup, and if it doesn't happen, the Rangers will be able to draft a very good player at 8 or 9. It would be just nice to draft one of those potentially elite talents one of these years.

Yeah, I checked out your link and it definitely says that. But, I am confident it is incorrect. They do 3 separate draws and our chances go up slightly each time because the winner of the previous draw is eliminated from contention. So there are 15 teams vying for 1st overall, 14 for 2nd and 13 for 3rd.
