One doesn't become "normal" immediately after moving out from the goal, could take years. Patrick Roy?

Don't talk about the next Rangers' coach like that.

I'm enjoying this stress-free year off from the playoffs.

its really been nice this year. so happy they took a step back and sold off at the deadline.. even if they squeaked in they woulda been right where the Kings are

You said you're not a goalie anymore....
- mdw7413

Not physically, but being a goalie gives you a mental landscape that never really disappears! Same as a defenseman who willingly throws himself in front of slap shots. That guy is never going to turn into a wussy.

edit: So, what Fenrir said!

MAF is a real headcase. Fortunately things have gone exceptionally well in Vegas. If they weren't this good, he wouldn't be as stable.
- Fenrir

Agreed 100% I've always said Crosby, Malkin, Letang and MAF are all unstable when things don't get their way.
Crosby would throw temper tantrums
Malkin becomes unhinged and becomes a dirty MF'er
Letang starts swinging his stick like a medieval battle axe
Fleury would just have a meltdown and let everything in

Pretty much sums up the Pens.
If the Vegas series somehow goes 7 and Fleury gets exposed, things could get interesting. Same if they lose the first 2 games of the 2nd round. Now that would make for good hockey.

Wonder if the NHL Department of Player Safety has a phone conversation with Josh Morrissey for his unprovoked and amazingly, though I shouldn’t really be shocked, unpenalized cross check to Eric Staal’s jaw.

Has there been an update on Couturier's condition? Someone (Jimbo, I think) said here yesterday that it ended his season, but I didn't know if that was in jest or not.

Yeah, I gotta think that was not his intention. Morrissey hasn't shown that kind of play before, to my knowledge.
I did that to a guy once in a tournament (looong time ago), after he stuck me in the balls. And, even then it wasn't my intention. I tried to cross-check him in the shoulder and it rode up into his neck and he crumpled. Neither ref put his arm up! Played the rest of the game as a marked man. Never happened before or since.

Oh, good. That would have been terrible (even for a mook like Gudas). Plus, I took the Pens in 6, so I need Couturier in there for another win!

I think he gets a fine and maybe 1 game worst case scenario, that's it, definitely deserves a fine without a doubt (unless there are rules that say you cant get fined unless you get suspended?). I watched the replay a few times last night, his stick was high and it was careless to have it up that high but there was not a ton of force behind it ,meaning his arms were fully extended already, it was almost like he was pushing off him / boxing him out via a WAY TOO HIGH crosscheck. However getting your ear crushed between a guy's stick and your helmet or your skull hurts!

Yeah, I don't think it was intentional. Reminds me of Staal hitting Crosby in the neck. Fighting for position and the stick goes somewhere you aren't planning. Should have been a penalty on the play and a fine afterwards.
