And where are they supposed to build this magical speed? We've already established that the neutral zone and passing lanes are blocked off...they're essentially left with Bobby Orr'ing or dump and chase

Then keep trying to dump and chase and keep getting muscled off the puck, losing possession, losing the zone and keep losing 5-1 and 7-3. Because that's what dump and chase has yielded for the Leafs.

The Leafs have speed and skill and the longer they play into their weaknesses instead of their strengths, the longer they get their asses kicked at a game they clearly can't play.

Here's a play you'll see 30 times tonight on both sides. Forward progress impeded at the end of a long shift you'll play the puck down your wall to your dman he will send it to the far side dman who will cross the red line and hammer it in. Defensive pairing makes a change.

Hopefully at least 2 forwards changed already and come in forechecking hard to support the changing D. This is like a universal NHL play.

Here's the thing though, if Matthews or Marner skates it in to the zone, and then gets cross checked in the face by Chara... Can we afford to lose either of them for the 2 minute penalty called against us?
