Whatever dude, it seems like you are just arguing for the sake of arguing
I hope so anyways, any intelligent human being can realize that every part of the team helps a team win.
So if you can't realize that well then good luck - Santo_44
If you go back to my first post about it I literally said "I enjoy debating with you"... so I'm legit just bugging you. |

I also didn't think Marleau fared that badly. Was it a success? No, but look back at his goals against one was on the wing playing with Matthews the other was actually a not so great change from Matthews Marleau 100+ feet down ice from the play.
Went 6-1 in the dot. |

But Santos said it had nothing to do with the players...that the coach was more important to their success.
My argument was babcock had quality teams in front of him which makes his job as coach easier. Santos said that I'm wrong and it doesn't. So he can't argue that because of injury the coach couldn't still be great....It's a little confusing. - Aaron_85
When did I say that?
All I have been saying is that a coach contributes to success just as a player does.
Babs had a quality team to coach and the players had a quality coach to be coached by...........which is why they had so much success in their tenure.
I really do not understand how you cant get this |

Uh not sure if you remember the futility that Canada went through in all the previous years leading up to the gold medal they got. Coach totally matters regardless of what hockeyboard experts think
Look how dominant the team was last time the NHL players went. They were awesome and very structured. - Archaic
I barely remember the previous years honestly, but I thought they made a lot of questionable roster decisions did they not?
Everybody knew the year Babs won gold that that team would be the most structured and defensively adept unit perhaps in the history of hockey.
I agree that a coach can matter a lot and push good teams to do great things, but sometimes, great teams only need a good coach to win. |

What I'd like to know is what we'll all be talking about tomorrow morning if Plecs ends up +3 with a goal and and 2 assists tonight on way to beating the Bruins 3-0? |

(frank) all his accomplishments
the fact I disagree with who is on the 1st line means your horrible - Santo_44
I dare you to find a single poster who says Babcock is a horrible coach.
You'll find a lot who think he has flaws, like literally every player and coach in the league. |

Honestly if Pleks can hold that line to even 1 goal I would call it a success. A wash is the plan but that is ambitious.

Then Babs made a good choice and Pleks is a lot better than I and a lot of others expected. It'd be nice and I sure as poop hope he shows up tonight. I don't have a problem with him trying to shut down Bergeron unless he fails. |

Yeah but you can't have a problem in hindsight, everyone is clairvoyant in hindsight. You need to roll the dice now that he can step up to the challenge. |

Exactly
So every player coach and gm has flaws?
but Babs is allowed to have flaws right? Make mistakes?
If this is the case then you agree with everything I have been saying.
why? because the difference between Babs and his flaws to any other coaches and their flaws is that Babs has the resume to back it up. |

I am sure Babs would love that
unfortunately he has to settle for Pleks, and he has Kadri and the Dops to thank for that
maybe we are directing our hate towards the wrong people |

Apparently he's being matched against Krejci so that leaves that Matthews line on Bergeron?
I don't know how I feel about that from a Leafs' perspective. Not necessarily on the defensive side alone, but because Matthews and Nylander will be lined up with Bergeron, Marchand, and Pasta (who has taken leaps an bounds in his 200ft game this year). My two cents |
