Yeah, he’s just not what we need tho with Nuge in the line up. He’s an upgrade but not enough to justify moving Draisaitl.
This trade simply doesn’t improve the Oilers.

Basketball?

Watching even 1 minute of the playoffs makes me realize how far away we really are. On top of that 31st finish... We 100% are the worst team in the league but we can do what Colorado did after they finished last a few years back... Trade ROR and make the playoffs in 3 years.

All kidding aside you guys need to remain patient. Add what you can in free agency to help but don’t be trading away any of the quality players you have at all. Get rid of the non factors if you can and keep plugging away. 2 more seasons of non-playoff hockey and you’ll be fine.

I don’t know about that but anyone suggesting it was a quick rebuild is nuts.

Honestly, a complete teardown rebuild can’t be done successfully in 5 years unless you already have 3 or 4 quality prospects in the system, draft an actual generational talent and have a whole bunch of luck.

It's funny, a year ago, Oilers fans were here giving us advice because they finally figured it all out. Now, we get advice because they screwed it up again. If JB wants to shake up this core (and he should), you just have to hope he makes much better deals than Chia. You don't stand pat because the Oilers made some catastrophically bad deals.

You stand pat because you have 6 impact positions to fill with veteran NHL players. The only way you can do this is development time.
