You’re so simpleminded you have no idea why they’re kneeling it’s not for the military why don’t you understand that ..

Best line I ever heard:

Is that an excuse or an explanation? Because frankly I'm not interested in either.

Wait until Eichel's contract kicks in and for some reason he doesn't live up to it for some reason, you won't stop people from jumping quick enough.

He was losing in Colorado, he was coming to a team that just finished last again and he signed a massive contract as soon as he got here.

He knew what he was signing up for, I will never be okay with a supposed leader of a team saying he lost his passion for the game he plays for a living.

- Stripes77

Same here.

If he changes whatever ailed him, we move on as a lesson learned. But in no way shape or form am I ever OK with that.

no he is not a top 10 scoring player

and he is not the upbeat north south player botts or housley wants

but if you have that upbeat center and lw, reinhart IMO will be just fine

so if we keep ror, skunk needs to either play with jack or casey

and I see it happening

then again I am fine playing

casey-jack-skunk
nylander-ror-svechnikov

for the top 2 lines if we get pick 2

- homiedclown

That would be nice but I think Botts wants to be able to roll 3 lines and be deep down the middle. I think Casey stays at C. But for the immediate future, if we want to win now, I agree with this lineup.

I am not on the get rid of ROR wagon yet, depending on how the lottery falls and if they really want to keep Casey at center ROR is a player I would consider moving for blue line help.

Let's fact it this team needs a true #1 D a true top line LWer and probably RWer while we are at is.

I just know something needs to change in that locker room.

agreed

ror, okposo, gorges, pommer were brought in over the years to help these kids not be in a losing environment and teach them how to overcome adversity

not say what he said this past week

I think a lot of players on this team and other chronic losing teams could say what he said he just might have the type of philosophical thinking personality to spit it out.

The whole bottom 6 of the roster forwards wise. And at least two defenseman on the backend. A goaltender that could make a save would be nice as well.

Entirely possible.

The thing with ROR is how much he portrayed himself as a leader.

The only equivalent I could think of would be Eichel saying "Once I sign this contract I will be 115 points per year" and then only scoring 70.

70 is great, but that's not what you promised.

ROR promised champagne, and delivered craft beer. Craft beer is great, but it's not what you promised.

Exactly, I am not on the ROR must go train because of his comments, but those comments aren't something I want to hear, truthful or not. Those are conversations to be kept between him and Botterill and Housley with a plan in place to fix it.

you still have pu, bailey, baptiste, asplund, davidsson

take 3 of them for that 3rd line

just get okposo off this salary cap with some long term injury

I think with CJ Smith, Bailey, Baptiste, Wilson, EROD you have a good start at building bottom 6 scoring depth.

Won't be easy to move ROR, he makes 7.5 for another what.... 6 years ? don't you think a team wanting to trade for him would want the Sabres to pick up any money ? foolish to do that IMO.

Maybe, but he signed his contract at the start of last year and came back from a horrible ankle injury in a meaningless lost season.

The kid loves to play hockey

I think ROR, Reinhart or Risto are going to be dealt, less likely Risto. They aren't going to change the makeup and skill type of the top 6 by trading Johan Larsson.

Agreed, the only way I'm trading ROR is if it makes the team better.

Whether we believe the contract is worth it or not is irrelevant. It is what is is and we have to pay it.

He is a playmaker, face off winner, power play guy, etc.

He scored 60 points and does so with AMAZING consistency.

Dumping him for fifty cents on the dollar is stupid IMO.

Just keep him, unless you get a good value, and build.

Unless he becomes a locker room problem, not saying he is or will become one. But in the event he does, you trade him.

Because they falsely believe that America is about equal outcome as opposed to equal opportunity.

Additionally, they believe income disparity proves systemic racism and have no specific example of policies that in fact show that exists.

That's why their kneeling, while working for the employer whose workforce LEAST represents the ethnic breakdown of the population while making a minimum of 350K per year.

Simply showing statistics that African American men are incarcerated more in no way shows that racism exists, merely that African American men are incarcerated more.

Agreed.

Like I'm a broken record here, someday the Sabres will hold the distinction of two of the worst trades in hockey, both involving the same player.

That trade gets worse, I was hoping that MAYBE the Sharks do win the cup. They're old so they just fall apart the next year and that 2019 pick becomes a lottery pick, nope it's protected in that event. It then becomes a 2020 first rounder.

You can't make that up.

you mentioned promises earlier or something to that effect as to what ROR said when he got here well, Pegula is just as guilty. This team is no better now then it was when he bought it, now it's worse IMO.
