why are they not able to sustain it?
- Michael Pachla

When your top winger is Sam Reinhart and your D lacks top-end talent to feed the puck, make creative plays in all three zones, it is going to be hard to be sustained. 198 goals scored screams lack of finishing, creative play on the wings and the D not having the talent to be part of the O.

That right there is the $64,000 question

My guess is players not following the sytem, as well as fatigue, and well some of them aren't talented enough to do it on the regular.

- Stripes77

I think talent and speed both have a lot to do with it...the losing culture doesn't help...a rookie coach didn't help much either...nor did weak goals which helped deflate whatever positivity they might have had going for them at any given moment...

when things are clicking, you look and play faster, when they're not you look and play slower

That's a pretty fair assessment.

I have a felling that will sign Haglin or Michael Grabner for the 3rd line
- gerbe75pts

I support this statement. Can't go into next season with the lack of NHL experience that we have right now on the left side. I think Bailey is better on the RW then the LW as well and has the speed that can gel with Mittelstadt or ROR (if he is still here). Thats why I think we ultimately move Reinhart if we get one of the wingers at the top of the draft. I believe Olofsson is also a left handed shot that plays the RW. With Baptiste and Fasching and Okposo who is unmovable we have tons of guys on the right side and not enough on the left side.

I've been quiet on the ROR front for the most part...

...but I think a change of scenery would benefit both parties.

Yeah, opinions on his commentary as to the why ROR is doing what he's doing absolutely can vary, but that timeline isn't in question.

And when considered in totality, it's pretty damning.

Orielly and Duchene...both wanted to leave the Avs so bad. Now look at them, playing for two cellar dwellers. Tisk tisk tisk

You don't just trade a player like ROR, there will be more to come regarding him.

Sam Reinhart was the tied for 15th best goal scoring RW in the NHL, 2 goals behind Patty Kane

the problem was no scoring from the LW aside from 40 games of Evander, and Okposo being useless

again this Reinhart bashing is insane

When I heard the quotes, I was pretty torqued.

But I don't believe this is an either or, you keep him and do nothing or ship him out.

There is a middle ground where he stays addresses what he has to and the team does their part as well.

If he comes in here and stays mentally tough all next year, his words, these quotes are gone. If he comes in and plays the same way that his words just confirmed...well there is a problem.

60 points isn't easily replaced though.

I just think this proves he isn't the leader he thought he was or claimed to be.

People can go on and on about him being a leader and he is a leader and he's showing and telling that ENOUGH is ENOUGH with the losing culture. Eichel has changed also the way he talks and acts, he said so himself.

The losing year after year has taken a toll and now the players a venting in there own ways and now they are poison because they are being honest ?

Sure people say replace ROR and his 60 points is easy, replace Kane and his 60 points is easy, it is ? then why can't we do it and succeed?

I'm a military guy, so when I think leadership, these are the terms I think in.

If I were in combat experiencing losses, and my SGT says, "I've lost my love for the Army and we've just become OK with losing soldiers." That SGT gets busted to PVT because he has no position in leadership, because that's not leadership.

According to ROR and his father, citing the Vogl's piece, "ROR is a superstar not for skill, but for character." Saying you gave up when stuff got tough is not character.

Yes, losing takes its toll that's why I can move past this. I can't imagine the stress he's under.

But if he comes in here and "checks out" like he did this year again we have a problem. He does need more help and effort from others though, I"ll concede that.

But adversity reveals character.

He turned it on in January when the season was long over. How about the 40 games of Sam being useless?
