Giants unlikely to draft a QB with No. 2 pick


According to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, it "does not appear likely" the Giants will draft a quarterback with the No. 2 pick.
Per Schwartz, the Giants have met with each of Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield and Josh Rosen but simply don't feel their body of work is "commensurate" with what they're looking for in a No. 2 pick. Schwartz adds that the Giants consider Penn State RB Saquon Barkley a "near-perfect prospect" and a better player than Ezekiel Elliott, who was drafted fourth overall in 2016. NC State DE Bradley Chubb is also "in the mix" at No. 2, though the Giants are reportedly out on Notre Dame OG Quenton Nelson. The Giants aren't wrong in their assessment of Barkley but passing on a quarterback—particularly with an aging Eli Manning coming off one of his worst seasons—feels like a mistake. Trading out of the No. 2 spot wouldn't be a bad idea, though that's never been GM Dave Gettleman's MO.

I know it's a minimal impact player, but I want no player gone more from this team than Johan Larsson. He is heinous. Just, the most mediocre hockey player I have ever seen play the game.

Being a Sabres fan in Toronto has been downright devastating the past few years. The constant bombardment and reminders of how bad we are from literally everyone that knows me. Being at the bar last night with a whole crowd of them and seeing their faces when the Bruins made it 4-0 was beautiful. I was the only guy at Shoeless Joes with a smile on my face.

Being a Sabres fan in Toronto has been downright devastating the past few years. The constant bombardment and reminders of how bad we are from literally everyone that knows me. Being at the bar last night with a whole crowd of them and seeing their faces when the Bruins made it 4-0 was beautiful. I was the only guy at Shoeless Joes with a smile on my face.
