If you really want me to, then I'll just point out that 3/4 of those players are already on the team. The 4th is a draft pick we haven't made. Making your draft pick isn't change, it's standing pat.

Even if they have to eat his 3rd year it's hardly a "bad" contract. Lucic is a bad contract. Neither are the Oilers a good team I guess, but still.

That's true, but you'd have expected a player his age to have already slowed down and he hasn't yet. He's just the guy that can play forever. I mean the mother(frank)er hasn't missed a game in 10 years. This is a guy who's missed 31 out of 1606 games in his career. The most in a season was 8, as an 18 year old, and then it was probably a healthy scratch type situation, even if not that's spectacular. Last 3 years are 48, 46, 47 points.

I just don't see it as a remotely bad contract.

Kris Letang is a bad contract, though through no fault of his own.

TJ Oshie is a bad contract.

Krejci is not a good contract.

I don't see how they're connected. I'm not crying to throw him on LTIR. Marleau is 10 years older on a deal half as long. Okposo has been hurt, badly, twice in the past year, Marleau, as previously stated, hasn't missed as much as a single game since Gerbe was still wetting the bed.

I think they'll stay the same. Their primary numbers and set up numbers aren't going to magically change.

Sure, more talented players will convert more on these chances, but if these players aren't creating many to begin with (they're not), then the upgrade in talent around them is kind of a moot point.
