It's the playoffs so we are not going to call "balls" any more. We don't want the umpires deciding games, so a player bats until he gets a hit or makes an out.

It's the playoffs so we are going to allow defensive backs and receivers as much contact as they need during a play. We don't want to have the refs affect the outcome of the game so whoever fights the hardest for it wins.

It's the playoffs, so we aren't going to call travelling, goal-tending, or fouls anymore. We don't want the refs to determine the outcome of the game. Schoolyard rules, call your own fouls.
