The man does have a pretty decent resume if you think about it and it doesnt hurt that he was an NHL enforcer. Went to Princeton and had over 1000 penalty minutes in the NHL. He should know what hes doing right?

I was asking cause I really don't know what qualifications he might have other than being a former player, of which there are many other options.

What did he study at Princeton, cause an arts degree probably wouldn't help him in this position.

If he took something like, sports medicine, maybe it'd be useful? Honestly, I'm not even sure what degrees would be most relevant for someone taking the job of DOPS.

Maybe a previous, slightly less impressive job working for the NHL might also help to qualify. I see he worked for 1 year in the DOPS before getting promoted to the head position. That seems rather fast. Wasn't there anyone else working there longer than him that deserved the position?

With that being said, I would suggest that you watch that particular play once again.
It was a chicken poop, non hockey play.
Irritation was the intent, not harm.
It was a gentle ((frank) you for punishing me all game) push to AMacs visor.
Marchand is very annoying.
We all played against guys like him growing up. Just dirty bullpoop, game in and game out.
He's pretty great to have in your team though.
Kinda like Kadri.

the irritation stuff is one thing. He does cross the line though into some dangerous poop.

I think the point the whole discussion is consistency. I don't ever remember a 3 game playoff suspension and I am still not even sure Kadri made (direct) contact with the guys head. I'd have to look more carefully next time.

but what the (frank) about letting other stuff, at least as dirty, just completely go. Or Marchand getting a fine only for his last offense....

The problem is that the league has reached a point with Marchand where, if they give him the treatment he deserves, they have to ask themselves what they do "next time".

They don't seem to give a poop about Kadri in that regard.
