Not you in particular, marchand’s name is coming up way too much in this conversation. - highstick87
Probably because he's POS.
Ask Marcus Johansen how he's enjoyed his hockey in 2018. |

I'm cheering for the leafs in this series....But what Kadri did deserves at least 2 games....I think he gets 1. Just because it's the playoffs. Just a dumb play, by a player who needs to be on the ice for the Leafs to turn this thing in their favor. |

Never returned. To the guy saying wingels fell and was turning into the boards when kadri hit, visit your doctor. - highstick87
Was me!
OK, I watched it again; and granted, my memory from last night's hit was a little fuzzy.
I will retract that he seemed to turn and fall, he was clearly already on his knees reaching for the puck prior to Kadri arriving.
Now, am I defending the hit? Hell no. Just don't think it is this 3 game sh!t I'm hearing. Kadri clearly had time to adjust the hit before contact.
RE: the elbow ---> natural instinct to snap your head back, often no matter the force.
Either way I like Kadri, plays on the edge and packs some skills/finish.
He was a real nice guy IRL too. So clearly that should reduce the suspension! HaHa.
When I was in college I interviewed him for the radio station when he was a London Knight. |

He sold the hit, so they had to take him to concussion protocol.
No point in returning to the game after that.
I guaran-franking-tee he's at practice this morning. |

Kadri i would say 2 games. But nothing in Wingels elbow to MArners head? Screw MArchand has got away with so much over last few years. He is Cooke with more talent |

So an elbow to the head is ok?
Wingels had a crack then got cracked. Hockey play.
If the league did their job things like this wouldn't happen.
I'm wondering what a Bruins player has to do to get suspended?
Hockey play & good on Kadri for squaring up on a grub play!
Also it's apparently fine to go grab a player & look to threaten & intimidate him for getting elbowed in the head? Put the whistles away? Then put the player reviews away without the whistles. (frank)ing bush turkeys running a farm league.
Can't wait to see what the Flyers get away with in game 2! |

The only reason why I did not like the Kadri hit is because he was clearly hunting. He was looking to take someone out. 1 game max, on a side note Why in the world do skilled players like Brad & Kadri do this stupid stuff. |

I have trouble finding the elbow wingels delivered, I’ll give you a shoulder (while his head was starting to go down) marner did well snapping his head back though. Kadri was on a mission to do something stupid all night, expect the bruins to goad him into more stupid decisions in this series, and he will definitely take the bait - highstick87
. Why don't I find that strange? |

Enough with this “elbow” leafs fans are reaching for. It was a minor hockey play on the boards. Those may get called in some instances but it wasn’t an egregious elbow. When your on the boards digging for a puck you sometimes have no choice of where your arms can go due to the glass impeding your movement. |

Would Marchand get suspended for either hit😏 - arichardson22
Is irrelevant here.
P.S. Hope you take another 7 goal beating. |

If the Kadri hit didn't happen would Wingels of gotten a penalty for elbowing? Maybe.
Will a retaliatory follow up get called instead of the initial incident? Almost Always. |

Outside of getting to second base with komarov, can we stop justifying kadri’s actions because of marchand’s past? Marchand had an outstanding game last night, and was enjoyable to watch. - highstick87
Guy is a great player. But he's a grub! Can't hide that & he will always be in the conversation around grubby play. And what the (frank) is he doing licking players? That's a breach of the rules & a great image to send out. |

It's awesome that Marchand has real estate in all of your heads. The hit was Kadri on Wingels after Wingels hit Marner. Marchand isn't even on the same line. Pathetic. |

You're going to take that stance with some of your team's past history? C'mon man. The guy is a poop head. We know. He also had nothing to do with the hit. |

Well yeah no poop. Everyone here knows it was a targeted retaliatory hit...
And the second thing - because they're only effective while playing on the edge. Take the stupid stuff out of their games and they're not scoring nearly as much. |

come on EK, Doughty was trying to get a clean shoulder check on a guy who had his head up. He just mistimed it, and hit his head by accident. That said, a one game supsension according to the rules is justified.
On the other hand, in Kadri's case the puck was gone, the player was down, defenseless/vulnerable, back turned, against the boards, he charged, left his feet, hit the head as the principle point of contact, it was retaliatory as he saw that Wingels had elbowed Marner just a second earlier, and it was his second boarding/charging call against the same player that period. AND it's Kadri, who has much more history doing this kind of thing.
To me there is no comparison between the two. Kadri deserves more games, I'd agree with the TSN panel who all agreed it should be 3+. Dirty dirty dirty cheapshot.

Hes taking it to another place that shouldn't be visited. As I said he's a great player but his team mates should have a word to him.
Also what has the Pens got to do with this if you're saying Marchand shouldn't be part of the conversation?
Seriously Kadri should get game(s) Not a game. He lined him up & finished it. At the same time Wingels should have protected himself........ |

I feel more angry every time I see the Kadri hit. He was mad from earlier play in the game, saw an elbow on a teammate and retaliated with a charge directed at the player's head while player was in a vulnerable position. Not a hockey play.
The Doughty hit could be chalked up to carelessness. Contact was made with both the shoulder and the head. Doughty walks the line and he crossed it. He has to be better than that.
Kadri hit was much worse. |

Because you're bringing up image as if your organization has some bullpoop moral high ground. You don't and should consider backing off that garbage. Consider the images that Cooke and James Neal portrayed hitting and kneeing other players in the head? Don't go acting like you're better than anyone else because you're not. Otherwise you're right about the Pens. They are as relevant as Marchand is here. |
