In reality, the result of Game 1 is no different than if they lost 2 - 1 in OT.

Now, if someone can do me a favor and remind me of this if the Flyers lose tonight and I'm drowning in a sea of Jameson and beer, I'd appreciate it

TIA

I would feel different today if it was 2-1 in OT and so would every other Flyers fan and player.

You can't even fool yourself.

Draft is in June.

They play a lot better tonight. Elliott gives them saves.

Let's see where we are after that.

How long before the first Pens goal?

Over/under the 2 minute mark.

I'm pregaming at the local bar so I should be in full fury the first 2 minutes.

I watched the first game in Phoenix with a random flyers fan at a bar where no one knew what hockey was. If it was hammar I’m disappointed in his lack of antics.

reality check( the flyers are not a good enough team to compete in this series)

whether its elliot or mrazek will make no difference, so save your self frustration and enjoy the last 3 or 4 games of the season and hope the young players learn from the experience going forward

Brian Elliott has played in 8 playoff losses in a row.

He's faced 182 shots during those games, making 155 saves, or a .824 sv%

Yeah, he's toast.

I beleaf this is not a good team. I love the boys but they aren't anything more than playoff fodder this season.

I wanted the Pens in the first round for just this reason. No one will be able to walk away from this series not knowing exactly where this club is in the hierarchy of the NHL.

Hextall may be great at working from the draft forward but he leaves a lot to be desired when handling talent as far as trades and free agency go. Acquiring draft picks he can do. Acquiring second/third rate talent is unfortunately also a strength.

There are plenty of opportunities every season to improve this club outside the draft without undermining the young talent. They haven't acquired a single player during Hextall's regime that has moved this team forward in a significant way.

Hopefully this drubbing will lead to a reality check. There does need to be changes.

That being said I hope they eliminate the Pens. I don't beleaf they will.

Go Flyers.

I've arranged for the downfall of my sobriety for the evening. Unless you wanna drive out to D'town so I can help you, you're on your own.

I agree that Hextall has something to prove with trades and free agency, on the other hand this upcoming season will be the first season he has the CAP space to make those moves

yeah he could have picked up an Ian Cole or a Vanek for a reasonable cost, would that have given them a chance to win the series with the Pens, probably not

I'm not even talking about the trade deadline. He's had that plus 4 or 5 off seasons and what has he added? Raffl?

I don't hate on Hexy but c'mon. It's like all of their eggs are in the draft basket and the rest of the league is operating around them.
