I get what they were trying to do getting Elliott in the last two games, but missing two months and then thrown into the fire in the first round looks to be a miscalculation at this point. Mrazek wasn’t lights out, but a goalie can get hot in the playoffs. Elliott is at a real disadvantage here. Kinda feel bad for the guy. Hopefully Hakstol is playing his cards right and Elliott can bounce back. If not, they need to pull the trigger quickly.

Sounds logical and level thinking to me.

He isn't a 4th line center. He has a solid NHL skill set with size.

Spezza isn't Filppula slow.

O'Reilly would be a solid add. Just think he might cost more then expected. Buffalo gave a lot to get him and a big contract. Need to get something back for him.

assume you are referring to Vorborov as a 3C? If so, no way Hak plays him at 3C, unless he has a camp that is out of this world

I think you can chalk it up to one bad game for Coots, in a game where just about everyone sucked.

Simmonds has been poop for a good while now tbh.

most of us gave G a pass knowing he played hurt last season...

Simmonds???

- wcorvette

it was known both Ghost and G were coming off of surgery and not up to speed, altho that didn't stop a lot of criticizing. I suspect Simmonds is hurt but we won't know for sure until the season ends. My being willing to trade him isn't about his play this year as much as its about being afraid to sign him for a long term deal

Why are you using Kenzo's avatard? That's pretty lame too

Why not? he had a pretty solid season in Lehigh.

I coud see it if they bring in a vet on a 1 year deal or maybe they get one in a trade. But Vorobyev is a sleeper for me. i think he could play a 3rd line role.

Here's the thing with Elliot. He wasn't "thrown into the fire". He's a veteran, he's been hurt before for periods of time and he's gotten right back into it. He knows his body and if he isn't ready to play and give his team a chance to win I don't think he'd play.

So you give him fast wings.

Frost is your future hope but until he is ready someone has to play there.

No way. He's mentally broken when it comes to the playoffs. Calgary dumped him because they knew he couldn't get the job done when it counted and now he believes it too.

You're entitled to your opinion but you're completely wrong on at least 14 different levels.

Sadly, I do believe this is the truth.

I know people are going to quote his stats from when he played behind Hitchcock's system in STL but that doesn't hold water with me, he still didn't win the big games and allowed the soft goal far to often.

Goalies are weird (sorry hammar). I’m not sure exactly how long he was practicing before they put him in but I don’t think it was that long was it?

i just feel like anyone they get on a one year deal isn't going to be the type of player at the 3C they need to really compete in the playoffs. you're going to get a Fillpula (circa 2018) type player.

unfortunately, with Provy's new deal coming up, they can't overspend with that Flip cash next year on someone who's going to be multi year deal dude. unless, of course, they can get rid of Simmonds and Gudas?

Vorobyev needs some time to develop into a 3C who can push the play and contribute points at the NHL level. not saying he can't do that at some point, but if we're trying to improve the team next year, that 3C needs to contribute points and PK immediately.

And why couldn't he? He's played a solid role for the Phantoms this yer. He's played in the WJ's.

In a 3rd line role he would be like Patrick was at the start of the year. Next year Patrick will have a much bigger role. I actually think you will see him kill penalties next year.

1. Yes way.
2. If he was mentally broken he would have karate kicked Crosby and windmilled anyone who got in his path.
3. Calgary dumped him because they needed cap space.
4. You are wrong.
5. Carolina isn't even in the playoffs.
6. He believes in himself.
7. No one has reported he's still injured.
8. You're wrong.
9. Fight me.
10. Do you even lift bro?
11. He has more experience than Mrazek
12. He's been the Flyers best goaltender this season
13. Game 1 wasn't entirely on him
14. You're are wrong

Did I read something this week that the Flyers were going to have lighted bracelets or something similar again for this series? Or did I dream it?
