there are teams who expect to win the cup who will not, they might be good trade parnters. They could see Simmonds as the piece to put them over the top. - wcorvette
I keep thinking Montreal.
That market. they will make changes this off season. they could use someone like Simmonds, especially if that locker room needs an attitude adjustment which seems to be reported. Galchenyuks name seems to always be out there.

As much as I hate the idea of losing Simmonds, Buffalo may be a good dance partner. They have to be fed up with the "culture' based on media reports, so Simmonds being a team guy could help shake it up there a bit.
Since ROR just spoke out and is getting the Buffalo death stare, maybe you could do an even up. We get a solid defensively strong 3rd C who can win key 3rd period faceoffs and they get a glue guy to help foster the right culture. |

Could Nashville be a partner? I wouldn't mind getting someone like Kevin Fiala |

Does Simmonds have any sort of no trade clause in his contract or modified trade clause? Can't remember if he does or not, but if he doesn't that's a deal I would try and make. If he does have a choice of what teams he can go to I feel like Buffalo would not be on the list at all. |

Not sure i want that 7.5 cap hit. Especially since Provorov will be coming up and i think he'll be getting a Doughty type deal.
One vet center I might be interested in for that 3rd line role if he gets bought out would be Spezza. Shouldn't cost much and maybe can get something on a 1 year deal. Could trade for him and see if Dallas keeps some cap hit. Right now he has 1 year left at 7.5 |

Get Buffalo to eat 2 mil of the salary or 2.5 and I'd be fine with it. |

Kadri got called for boarding Wingels earlier in the game behind the net. Wingels was facing the boards but in my opinion Kadri got him from the side, and Wingels fell toward the boards. Not shocked that the NBC crew felt it was a blatantly obvious penalty. The relay told me otherwise.
The hit later in the game, again on Wingels was ugly though. In the words of the Thunder play by play guy, Kadri was out of his cotton picking mind last night. - IvanBrovorov
That’s the play I was referring to. The call was really bad especially for a playoff game.
The boarding major I have no problem with, he should be suspended. I think the BS first call contributed to him going crazy.

ROR gets paid like a 1C, and any trade for him will cost more then we’d be happy giving up. |

is he much better than filppula at this point? I haven't watched much of dallas, but they have similar point totals. i'd still rather try someone in house. |

Perhaps I have a warped perspective because Simmonds always brings his "A" game to Toronto, but I'd be happy to take him off your hands.
His salary isn't atrocious - but with only 1 year left, I don't think you are going to get as much for him as maybe Flyers fans expect.
We would need him to play left wing, though. |

All my suggestions are contingent they don't think someone in house can. I would like it to be Vorobeyv.
Spezza had a down year this year. Last year he had 50 in 68 games. I also like he brings size at 6'3'' and can play on 2nd PP next year.

It's going to be an interesting story to watch this summer.
NHL is still very much an old boys club - and ROR broke the (stupid, but very much real) unwritten code: admitting his heart wasn't in it.
Will another GM really be willing to take him on?
I think any move is going to involve Buffalo retaining salary. More of a dump than a trade. |

dont want another slow 3C, Flyers still need speed.
how about Laughton, Simmonds for ROR and a 3rd with Buf holding 3 mil
bring Vorborov up to play 4C |

I think it's time to trade Giroux. His value will never be any higher. A team that comes to mind is Vancouver. They'll need someone to replace Henrik.
To VAN: Giroux

I don't think it's spite, I think it is a combo of the following:
1. Mrazek, after his first couple of starts with team has been bad much more often than he's been good and I don't think the players on the ice have any confidence in him.
2. Elliott is likely going to be one of our goalies next year and seems to be a good, veteran influence on the younger players. OTOH, Mrazek will almost certainly be playing for someone else next year as Hextall isn't going to spend 4 million plus to qualify the guy, sign him to a multi year deal and/or give up another pick to keep him.
3. Neuvirth just isn't ready to go. I think Hak wouldn't hesitate to start Neuvirth tonight if he was 100% and ready, but he's not. Neuvy has shown in the past, that when he gets hot, he can beat anyone but it is what it is right now.
Personally, I'd probably go with Mrazek, mainly because I think he at least gives you a slightly better chance to win if he can get hot, but at the end of the day, I really don't think they are going to win this series no matter who is in goal so I can understand the reasoning behind staying with Elliott tonight. - BiggE
I'll just say this. Someone brought up, "what if Mrazek gets into tonight, he losses and both guys are without confidence". Well than I want neither guy on my team in the fall. |

Mrazek has great playoff stats actually. If it's 2 0 after 5 mins, then I make the switch and for good in the series. Elliott's not ready to be dropped in like this. |

He isn't a 4th line center. He has a solid NHL skill set with size.
Spezza isn't Filppula slow.
O'Reilly would be a solid add. Just think he might cost more then expected. Buffalo gave a lot to get him and a big contract. Need to get something back for him.
