I saw this. I couldn't tell if he licked or kissed him.

Seriously?

The refs triggered Kadri last night for the bs boarding call behind the net, I think that’s what led to the play where he was tossed.

- Marc D

Are you talking about the Marleau hooking penalty?

To be honest, I was OK with the call. You can't hold up a guy like that behind your own net.

Might have been a bit of a dive, but whatever.

The bolded is, IMO, the biggest key to this team moving forward next season. You cannot beat the better teams in the NHL in a playoff series with only 2 good centermen. That third guy is crucial. The D will be better with just more experience and the addition of Morin over Manning. The goaltending will be fine. Elliott when healthy is solid and while he won't win you a Cup, he's more than good enough to win a playoff series. However, if they can't fill that hole at 3C, one and done is likely the best they can expect.
- BiggE

people can say Flip is sound on the D side but he gets the puck he can make 1 hockey move and then he loses the puck or the puck get to far ahead of him, he cant control., probably comes from knowing he just doesn't have the time due to him slowing so much.

I was flipping back and forth between games, don’t remember if it was vs Marleau. It was a behind the net hit called on him. He was banging his stick on the penalty box glass as soon as he went into the box.

Giroux is was also signed long term already.

Simmonds will need a new deal soon, plus you have wingers coming in the pipeline. Also if they plan to use Patrick in a net front presence moving forward your taking away a part of Simmonds game that made him attractive.

don't disagree, hate to move him but the right package and I would. I do think it should involve a roster player not just picks.

If Schenn is worth 2 1st and a bag of pucks, Simmonds is worth?

If the power play doesn't get any shots on goal again we'll be seeing Simmer back on the top unit soon

They will write about the Flyers not having a goalie since Hexstall and the poopty fans, both are tried and true memes for the lazy media.
- Marc D

It's hard to push back against the no goalie meme when Elliott gets strafed in the first half of the first playoff game.

Don't agree. If they are not getting shots Patrick becomes more important in trying to facilitate the puck. Maybe a move would be to put Gostisbhere on the half wall in Voracek's spot and Sanheim at the top of the umbrella. Giroux, Couturier and Patrick in their spots. I think that would make for a more shooting type PP.

Keep in mind Schenn had 3 years left on his contract and the Flyers had to take on Lehtera. Simmonds is probably worth a 1st and a prospect.

there are teams who expect to win the cup who will not, they might be good trade parnters. They could see Simmonds as the piece to put them over the top.

if neuvirth can play put him in
hes the best goalie we have and only needs to stay healthy a little longer cause the playoffs are shorter
or mrazek. elliott is still clearly hurt and it seems like the new normnfor him is the carolina and Pittsburg games, and not the rangers game (where he admittedly didnt see much action)

Kadri got called for boarding Wingels earlier in the game behind the net. Wingels was facing the boards but in my opinion Kadri got him from the side, and Wingels fell toward the boards. Not shocked that the NBC crew felt it was a blatantly obvious penalty. The relay told me otherwise.

The hit later in the game, again on Wingels was ugly though. In the words of the Thunder play by play guy, Kadri was out of his cotton picking mind last night.

very true, but at the time I think most in the league would have considered Simmonds the better player. He also brings something a little different.

I do agree with what you are proposing but I think they can get a roster player and a pick, maybe a 2nd
