Crosby is rattled , talking out of his ass considering he pushed Giroux into Letang in the first place. Not sure if this Pens team really gets frustrated much anymore considering they are back to back cup winners but man it sure looked like the Flyers got on their nerves tonight. |

They are rattled. You could tell by the silence that filled the stadium. Sunday in Philly will be a zoo |

I would say that the refs had to get on their nerves in this one too. That embellishment call... Very questionable.

I honestly believe it was the right call. Hard call to make because of how the impact looked when Hornqvist landed but he propelled himself into the boards somewhat. A-Mac nudges him with his stick basically gives him a shove or at least thats the way I saw it. No way the force A Mac used leads to Hornqvist being propelled like that. |

Bruh that turnover that led to the Croavy breakaway - Giroux_Is_God
Jesus Buddy the guy gets 102 points this year and they win the game and you are worried about one turnover c'mon I hope there was a touch of sarcasm there. |

If Voracek and Giroux can have big games at home I'm liking our chances of making this a 7 game series. And as we know once it gets to a game 7 anything can pretty much happen. |

i think a lot of it was just their inability to finish. crosby getting stoned on the breakaway. him missing the deflection at the end. theyre frustrated. the flyers really havent been dirty in any fashion or gooning it up to get them off of their game. that narrative is years away from relevance.
can tell theyre pressing. crosby snapping his stick. malkin doing his me against the world skate through everything attempts. kessel refusing to shoot instead looking repeatedly for the perfect thread.
cant get too frustrated at the refs when you still had four full powerplay opportunities. he didnt look overly comfortable back there, but bottom line is elliott was clutch as hell back there tonight. i truly believe if crosby scores on that breakaway the pens ultimately win the game. you can talk percentages or whatever all you want, but that save right there exemplifies what people mean when they say you just need to buckle down and make a save when your team needs it most. |

It's definitely a different game if Crosby scores on the breakaway. That was a terrible decision by Giroux. It also may have been the turning point from Elliott being uncomfortable to gaining confidence. |

No Team Negative tonight?
Wonder why - opeth_pa
I watched the game and enjoyed it. It doesn't do any good to point fingers, because we are all right and wrong about stuff
Just was surprised that so many people were ready to bury them after one bad game. Series don't start until you lose at home. That rule of thumb's been around forever, and whether it was 1-0, 3-2, or 7-0, it was only one loss |

Okay so am I not allowed to point out a pretty bad play he made? Just because I was bummed about a bad turnover doesn't mean I'm ready to crucify the guy. Sheesh.
Don't really understand how my original comment led some to believe I think Giroux has lost it or sucks now or something ridiculous |

bottom line, elliott rewarded his coach's loyalty in a big way. sure im bitter, but good for him from a personal standpoint coming off of the game one mess. |

Anyone give Hakstol love for not changing the lineup or no?
No panic. No problem.
See you in South Philly, you yinzer (frank)s. - johndewar
Some people would rather drink arsenic than give that dude the credit he deserves -- I totally would have come back with the same lineup. Because they played bad in one game, not 20

I'm with the program.
I think they need to drive play better. I also thought it was interesting that this game was a mirror image of gm 1. One team snakebitten, the other team capitalizes twice, other team continues to be snakebitten, other team scores again, and it snowballs.
They capitalized on their chances which was huge. Elliot was MVP which is huge. Didn't stay out of the box though, which could be huge for the wrong reasons.
Tremendous focus to bounce back after a disastrous game 1. Hope they keep the party rolling in Philly. |

Sorry man I may have jumped the gun a little, just tired of seeing negative comments from everyone on here when they lose a game and then when they win people point out the negatives. They just beat the 2 time Stanley Cup Champions convincingly and guys are commenting that if Crosby would have scored on that breakaway the Pens prob would have won, really guys be happy we won! |
