Again. At some point you have to stick up for yourself for your own sense of pride. This isn't about intimidating the Pens. This is about being a cohesive team and building something for yourself.
That game was lost early. Watching Lindblom take an intentional high stick and then slammed into the curved glass at the bench even on a clean check and having nothing done is not good for the Flyers. I'm concerned about my team and my players. The Pens can take care of their own. - mayorofangrytown
that really did bum me out. young kid gets taken out hard and no one did a damn thing.
manning is not needed. he should have Last of the Mohicans style chopped one of their dbags (or one of their insufferable fans) right in the face |

I can understand where you're coming from here, definitely. I thought it was more about getting the Pens off their game.
I fully expect a MUCH tighter game all around this time around. There was a moment where Simmonds tried to start some poop... and then he realized it was Oleksiak... and the poop stopped quick lol yeah that curved glass hit was nasttttty. I can't stand the fighting after clean hits. If it's dirty, I'm all for it, but if it's clean... play should go on, IMO. |

The Flyers need to score early.
Murray has 183 minute shutout streak. Getting to him early would be really good for the Flyers psyche. - ggunky
Only a 60 minute streak this year. But, yes, early and often would be great. |

It would probably help, just to match the depth the Pens have.
Run something like:
Raffl-G-Voracek
Weal-Couts-Simmonds
Lindblom-Patrick-Konecny
Laughts-Filp-Read
Spreads the offense through 3 lines. It would be a lot of responsibility for the young guns on the third line, but good experience for them. And a lot of fun to watch. - ZechsMarquise
Yeah thats kinda what I was thinking. |

you are 100% correct. I don't give a (frank) if Pitt would have engaged or not. You stick up for teammates....The Flyers had a chance to build something after getting down 5 or 6 zip....they chose not to, and to me that's embarrassing. For (frank) sakes we all know the game has changed, but if anyone thinks that not playing a physical gritty sometimes dirty game isn't a recipe for playoff hockey I would suggest your not paying attention.

the one way to combat a kid like Oleksiak is pretty simple....you run their best players every chance you get....not him, because as you suggested that probably wouldn't end well.

It's not my fault you think hockey is a kum by ya get together. Hockey is meant to be played as a tough physical sport. |

Right. Because the last time a physical team gritted it's way to a cup was what... 6 years ago? |

You ever notice how everyone talks about how being huge and physical is key in the playoffs but then all of the best playoff performers are a bunch of (frank)ing midgets?
Like, Tyler Johnson, Danny Briere, Patrick Kane, Chris Kunitz, Cammalleri.... |

hahaha no you come on. Just because I'm a Pens fan doesn't mean I can't have actual conversations about the sport. Hating individuals solely based on their team is (frank)ing retarded. Hate someone because they're a piece of poop, not because their from a city. Don't get me wrong, there are some (frank)ing idiots from Pittsburgh but I generally enjoy actual hockey talk, good conversation, and some poop talking. I don't hate any of you dippoops because you're Flyer's fans. |

on a lighter note, the big boss sent us one of his brewery's kegs and we shall be TAPPING it soon.
i dare the pain of another 7-0 loss to try and affect me.
as for the idea of splitting up the top line to give the flyers 3 centermen who don't stink...anyone really think that would WORK (in the doubtful chance Hak tries it)? |

1. Yes way.
2. If he was mentally broken he would have karate kicked Crosby and windmilled anyone who got in his path.
3. Calgary dumped him because they needed cap space.
4. You are wrong.
5. Carolina isn't even in the playoffs.
6. He believes in himself.

Plenty of teams in the league have zero cap space but they find a way to get it done.
You think the Pens are teaming with cap space? The Blackhawks and Kings of the past half decade?
He had the cap space to sign Weisse. That was certainly money well spent and that's not Monday morning quarterbacking it as most of the people on this thread were hollowing at the waste of money the day he was signed. - mayorofangrytown
hate the Weise signing but that is what they have 2 mil to find a player. Pens, Bruins, Rangers have college kids or undrafted kids that want to play in the city or with the Champs.
agreed Hexy hasnt done the job with un-drafted free agents or college kids. |
