OK, how about this. ROR, Risto and a 2nd to Ottawa for Bobby Ryan & karlsson, I think I would rather have Karlsson for 7 years instead of Risto (and I like Risto)
- hehateme

That's a horrible deal. Karlsson is gonna get 11m per, Bobby Ryan is signed at $7.5 until the rapture, and you're paying them a pick for the deal? Swap Risto for Okposo or Bogo and it's more interesting

Then easy yes for me

You get the first overall pick you can then trade that for a massive amount that would be Ridiculous

- gerbe75pts

So you're saying if the Sabres pick first they would trade out because they have Karlsson?

You're also trading away Risto so you need someone in that 2/3 role. I would prefer to draft Dahlin and have him learn from the best in Karlsson

Nylander Eichel Okposo
Baptiste Mittelstadt Ryan
Bailey Asplund Reinhart
Smith Erod Wilson

Karlsson Dahlin
Guhle Scandella
McCabe Nelson

Ullmark
???

That is a lineup I would at least want to see assuming Nylander can be that top line RWer, if not you still have a hole to fill.

Ok then, How about Risto & 1st for Karlsson.
- hehateme

Depends on where they are drafting

If it is 1st overall I would rather draft Dahlin

If it's 4th then maybe but you would still have to move ROR to shed salary (and fill some holes as well) unless you can find a way to move Bogo

We are stuck with Bogo.... He is hurt to much for anyone to see value in him. I would rather Dahlin too, however If I was presented with this deal, I would have to think long and hard on it.

the entire left side of this forward lineup has combined for less than 10 nhl goals??? and have produced modestly (at best) in the AHL. Baptiste and Bailey are not in my top 6 if this team is ever winning anything

Rome wasn't built in a day mother(frank)er, it's better than the current roster

$18M in salary in for $12M in salary going out?

Have you seen Bobby Ryan 'play' the past 2 seasons?

I didn't say they would win, I said it would be a lineup I would at least want to see aka watch

The speed those players bring and the speed type of game Housley wants to play at least excites me more with that lineup over anything I have seen in the last year.

Also that left side has 13 goals in the NHL

I would imagine if Karlsson is ever going to be traded, someone is going to have to take Ryan as a salary dump. Maybe we get lucky and Ryan turns into ROR?

Quite possibly the worst contract in the NHL currently

Not to mention you lose 2 of your top 4 players for a guy who realistically can never overachieve on his next contract.

To me, it's a horse race between him and Loui Eriksson regarding worst contract.

The cap hits on this make me want to puke

ROR $7.5 for 5 more years Just turned 27
Risto $5.5 4 more years turns 24 in October

Bobby Ryan $7.25 for 4 more years just turned 31
Erik Karlsson $6.5 more 1 more year then at least $10 million for another 8 and is about to turn 28 in May

Nope not making this trade. When Karlsson's new contract kicks in he will be 29 years old and then you're looking at an 8 year contract taking him until he is 38 years old at $10 million a year.

Yes Karlsson is the best player in this deal by far but taking on Bobby Ryan's contract and his lack of production (33 points in 62 games) no thank you

- Stripes77

Plus,
Karlsson was not the same this year
Is that foot injury lingering?
If it continues to be an issue,
then Karlsson at 10mil + becomes a bad contract as well

I think you're undervaluing Karlsson. It would be ROR, Risto, multiple 1sts for Bobby and Karlsson. Just my guess.

Speed, youthful enthusiasm, and fresh mindsets that have no ego to counter the direction of the organization. I'm sticking with bringing in minimal F.A's.
