Ses, where has all your man love for Greiss gone?
- nyisles7

I still think Greiss can have a bounce back season especially if the D improves, but I do not want him as the #1 and if he were to be beaten out of the backup spot and had to go to Bridge so be it. I want someone from outside brought in to be the #1.

That draft drove me nuts... took JT with first pick. moved up for DeHaan.... then with the first pick in the second round we took Koskinen and the first pick in the 3rd round we took Anders Nilsson. I was fine with first round but why take not 1 but 2 6' 6" goalies with relatively high picks in the same draft?

Agreed Ses, Greiss should be the #2 and a true #1 should be brought in.

Should be, but won't. Not with dickface running this thing into the ground.

Because Garth decided in his wisdom that 6’6 goalies were bigger and clearly could take up more space. It was probably a Wang decision. Either way 12 years later and not a single goalie was drafted that became an isles homegrown starter.

That was my point. He did not have the Leddy and Boychuk from a few years ago and he played a grand total of 4 NHL games.

GO JETS, KINGS AND FLYERS!

(frank) the Pens and Knights. I’m indifferent about the Wild.

Holtby would be wonderful, but he’d also cost the Islanders bigly. Grubauer might be a solid/cost effective option however.
- Wildschwein

Just heard that Grubauer is starting game one.

Yup. He outplayed Holtby in the 2nd half by a substantial margin.

So you have to think Holtby will be traded in the off season at some point.

Perhaps. I'm more inclined to believe Trotz is simply riding the hot goaltender. Not terribly surprising considering that his contract with the Caps expires this year.
Honestly I'd love either one of Holtby or Grubauer. Both are legitimate starters in my eyes.

as bad as the defense was this year, i think it was more coaching than actual skill level, because those teams from 2009-12 had absolute (frank)ing bums. gervais, jurcina, washed up ass steve staios, i'm sure there's more that i've mentally suppressed

Agreed. Thinking trading Holtby would give them some Cap space. He has 2 more years at 6 per. Grubauer is coming off a 1 year 1.5 million dollar deal.

The Flyers getting crushed. There should be a mercy rule for this game.

Nah. Let the Pens get Giroux good and pissed. He'll go into beast mode next game.
