Lots of people acting like the NHL playing 2 game 4's on the Golf Channel. It's definitely strange, but an interesting experiment. It could just be me, but it seems that more public places I frequent seem to show the Golf Channel more than they show ESPN.

I suppose they could but I'm not sure we really need to spend an extra $5 million. After next year we free up over $10 mill with Moulson and Pominville off the books, not expecting much next year so I guess just take your lumps and get them off the books in 19/20

Everyone else, we get it, seriously, no need to repeat yourselves day in and day out.

The fact of the matter is, this team is historically bad for going on almost 5 years now, has been incompetently managed from the owner down, has a plethora of underachievers that most of the fanbase defends but some of the fanbase laments the signing of and very few call it like it is: They haven't made a dingle-berry's worth of a difference and constantly make excuses for their own crappy play which perfectly mirrors the fanbase as a majority (just go on the Sabres reddit and say ROR is an overpaid cry-ass, I DARE you).

There is NO EXCUSE for the current state of the team, there is NO EXCUSE to not have a captain, there is NO EXCUSE to have been the first team to finish 31st in NHL history, this WAS NOT an intentional tank year, we ARE this bad.

Eichel can only do so much. ROR admitted he quit on the season. Okposo is mediocre like some of us said he was, injuries or not. Lehner is a tank on skates. Johnson is a delusional, career back-up. Ristolainen has reached his ceiling. Reinhart only plays half the season. Pominville is as vanilla as ever and ageing fast. Scandella is woefully inconsistent. Kane was NOT the problem. Rodriguez was a pleasant surprise. Nelson made leaps and bounds but has a long way to go. Too many young players were benched or buried on the 4th line or in Rochester, a team that made the playoffs NOT because of our prospects, but because the majority of the team is composed of career AHL'ers. The rest of the team are fringe NHL'ers on what has become the NHL farm team, ladies and gentleman, your Buffalo Sabres.

At least this is Hockey Heaven. Or is that still a thing?

Players on LTIR do count against the cap. It's a complicated process and almost always misrepresented.
