Other than what I suggested, maybe personal questions, especially to someone disillusioned like ROR.. do you want to be here, do you want to lead this team so on and so forth. I'd bet my house his locker cleanout day quotes will be a big discussion.
- TheSabresTaco

Like I said, waste of time IMO. Let's move on after this crap.

it tells me nothing...

pommer was the key to bringing in Scandella...a rebuilding team isn't going to have two aged vets on the team playing a bottom-six role and taking up (probably) well over $8m in salary...

it doesn't make sense

- Michael Pachla

They did do that though... Instead of waiving Moulson to start the year, they didn't re-sign gio. Botts clearly didn't think highly of him. Moulson, Josefson, Nolan, Griffith. Botts chose all of them over their sitting captain

Steve Tasker taking over for Donald Jones starting Monday. Great move imo. I liked Donald's takes, shame he's moving home.

Well the team seems to be a bit of a mess and they finished last.
- Hatboro_Swords

Colorado went from 48pts to 95pts in a year. They were an older team last year, their youth is what revived them, not the addition of veteran leadership. Landy and Mac were their two big leaders last year, same again this year but with a vast improvement.

I guess what I am saying is that a last place finish doesn't have any direct correlation to leadership or a lack thereof.

They got really good as a group once they eliminated the cancers, Ror and Duchene.

Now Buffalo and Ottawa suck zebra testicules.

Time to eliminate the cancers.

Sabres signed Andrew Oglevie to an ELC from Notre Dame, so much about not being able to attract college FA's

Because he was still a better scoring option than Griffith and Gionta had decent speed. Botts is all about culture. If Gionta was a great leader/culture guy, why wasn't he brought back? The only answer is that he wasn't actually a leader
- jcragcrumple

Another answer could be : trying to intentionally lose.
How could giants not be a leader?

We've signed forward Andrew Oglevie to an entry-level contract.

Welcome to Buffalo, @AOglevie!

As a junior at @NDHockey, Oglevie served as alternate captain & ranked 2nd among Fighting Irish skaters with 39 points (15G, 24A), leading the team in goals for the 2nd straight year.

RoR was gone before they had their last place finish though. Are you saying Duchene is such a bad influence that he alone brought that team down almost 40pts?

If everything else was the same except Babcock signed on as our coach 3 years ago instead of Disco Dan, I wonder where we would be?

Nice get for the Sabres in Andrew Oglevie. Took a longer dev road into becoming NHL-style player. Speedy guy got stronger and ended up scoring many big goals for Notre Dame over the past two seasons. Always noticed him in a good way when watching the Irish.

I have been following some of the NCAA defenders, but less of the forwards. I have heard his name though, good program and a decent depth player. He'll top out in the bottom6 most likely, but it adds more competition which I am all for. Good signing.

Jack Eichel is the Captain.

delaying putting the "C" on him because some of the wise ones on here believe he is not mature enough or doesn't do enough ( ) is (frank)ing stupid.
