Actually I understand Pete’s take. I do.

I’m just surprised no one has called out any of my first round predictions.

The guy traded for John Scott, he had to do it, couldn't tell anyone why, he just had to do it.

Traded a top d prospect for a winger, tells the winger he's playing center, tells his top offensive center he's a winger.

There's plenty more..

I don’t think it’s soley on Price but as you said he is a difference maker. He’s an impact player. Look at Giroux in Philly, last year calls for his head were heard, this year he cracks 100 pts. Sometimes, your best players have to be your best players for your team to succeed.

Or maybe (other than one amazing season), he's just an average NHL goalie.

That arrogant bastard blames the season on attitude.

If that's the case, the fix should start at the top..

- pete26

especially if, like he said, they noticed that back in training camp.

and they did nothing about it all year?!?

now he says my work starts now, things will change....

It's amazing that you defend a GM and say he has integrity after he rants about how he's disappointed in player's attitudes for 75 minutes. Good to see a man who claims to desire players with character has no problem in throwing everyone under the bus, including his best player. He only admitted to his failings as a GM after taking the piss out of his team. That's not what leaders do.

Bergevin acted so defensively the entire presser it made me uncomfortable watching it. I believe he's reached a point where he cares more about defending his actions, than he does about making sound hockey decisions. Rather than admitting he put the team in an awkward spot going into the season by; A) Low balling Radulov until he signed elsewhere. B) Telling our longest serving Hab Markov to wait until September for a contract. C) Trading for a winger and forcing him to be a Centre. And D) Signing a bunch of aging, slow defencemen and proclaiming they improved our team. Instead he sat there female doging about attitude.

Bergevin is 6 years into being a GM. This is his team and these are his players. He needs to own that and realize they are just not a good enough team to compete for a Stanley Cup.

I don't blame him for blaming the players. most of them did suck all year.
I blame him for assembling such a group pussies, for not finding a #1C in over 6 years, for his loyalty towards the scouting dpmt..... and I could go on and on.

Just listening to him talk, you see he can't think straight. sorry for the following Pete, there's really no other way to say it

they had a 1C , it was galchenyuk , 6'3 200 something pounds , could score 30 goals, instead the combined bs of Julien and Therrien messed with his head.
