I wonder how Carolina/Calgary/Chicago/StL Blue are going to do in the playoffs...they were Corsi Cup CHAMPIONS this year....ah, who am I kidding, Leafs won't have a chance against them top teams.

Because opposite points of view merge to find the truth which almost always lies somewhere in the middle.
- Unholy_Goalie

Okay but that doesn't mean people what that as apart of their fun. I'll agree with you on that but that didn't answer the question on why you poop on people's fun?

Funny how three out of those four teams had either poop goaltending or their #1 goalie miss significant time because of injury. Darling sucks, Smith got hurt, Crawford got hurt and even the Blues had trouble with Allen not being as good as he needed to be.

Eugene, I try my best to not respond to you but I feel I have to here.

If it's all in fun as a fan then why poop all over everyone's "miracle" hope? Does it affect your life in ANY WAY? No. So let people have fun in their way. We will let you have fun in your "realistic" way.

- Aaron_85

If you want to be realistic you are wrong for choosing any team to win the cup.

Every team has terrible odds to win.

I think what people don't like on here is you trying to say the Bruins are heavy favorites and Leafs have no chance....If you want to debate on why the Bruins may be a slight favorite and why you think they will win than go ahead. At the end of the day it does not matter who the slight favorite is, when these two teams face each other that will all go out the window, it is that close.

It is obvious to everyone that neither team is far off from eachother, and if you were to take one team to win you would not be wrong. You need to start believing this team has a chance, or at least give it a rest on telling people they don't...because they are 7th in the league, they are right behind that tier one.

If I were to say it was a miracle for Washington to win the cup would I be right? (frank) no, Washington is a good team that has a legitimate chance to win. Are they up there with NSH? Nope. but they are close enough that in a 7 game series they 100% have a chance to beat them.

- Santo_44

7th in the league because they are really that good or because they were 7-2 in the shootout, something that doesn't exist in the playoffs?

The Leafs are a good team, they're just not as good as you think they are and a lot of stats prove that, especially during the playoffs, when all the teams they are playing are also very good if not great teams.

It would be a miracle if the Capitals won the Cup this year, because time and time again they play the same style that doesn't work in the playoffs. That's the same trap the Leafs need to avoid if they want to actually have playoff success.

I think you've forgotten what playoff hockey is and what the difference is between the regular season and the playoffs. It's a different game, a different atmosphere, it's the separator between the pretenders and the contenders. You have this "any miracle can happen" mentality when reality is the opposite.

And missed a big chunk of time at a crucial part of the season that cost them their ability to stay in the playoff race. He would have played 65-70 if he was 100% and the Flames would have had a better chance.

It's hockey...those stats are just stats...different poop happening all year long. As I said previous...Babcock doesn't give a (frank) about Corsi..he's trying players in different spots, - we had injuries...our #1 guy out 25 % of the year...yet you don't say boo about that....Bruins are favored...I wouldn't bet my own money on them beating us...are you?

Take away every team’s shootout wins, the Leafs are still top 10. Sorry about your narrative.

It's hockey, not a pinball machine. If it was just all luck, then they should hand out the Cup using lottery tickets instead of playing the game. The fact that they play the game all season long and compile statistics to show who excels at what part of the game is a useful indicator of who is playing the game better than everyone else.

meh...ups and downs all season...I think you're going a little overboard. Caps have been favored for years...supposed to beat us up in 4 last year....Pretty sure we went to OT every game but 1....just chill and enjoy...we know we're underdogs...we don't need pages of stats to know this.

ROW puts them 10th instead of 7th which puts them closer to the Wild and the Avalanche than it does to teams like Nashville, Boston, Winnipeg and Tampa Bay.

So if 10 years go by and the Leafs are just like the Capitals, a team with tremendous scoring power but always loses in the playoffs, would you be happy? You shouldn't be nor should any Leafs fan. But right now, that's how they're playing and if they want to succeed in the playoffs, they need to play a different way to adapt to the style that succeeds in the playoffs.

10th out of 16 teams is like 20th out of 31. So thanks for playing. Being a bottom half seed of the playoff teams isn't all that great. It's good, it's above average but it's not legit contender status, especially without strong possession or defensive play like teams like the LA Kings had.

If Matthews played more the Leafs would be a defensive juggernaut? I don't think so. The problems the Leafs have run deeper than that.

I hope Lou bans him until after the playoffs. Instead of killing the whole herd, just remove the one with mad cow disease.
