Toronto: 49.85 CF% (17th), 53.96 GF% (5th), .928 SP% (8th), 9.01 SH% (2nd), 101.77 PDO (2nd)

Boston: 53.66 CF% (2nd), 55.07 GF% (3rd), .925 SP% (12th), 7.89 SH% (12th), 100.38 PDO (13th)

dominated...........................no sorry, it is much closer than you think in that category.

Especially when you consider how well the Leafs have played since Babs changed up his lineup.

this. being able to upgrade up-to 20% of you skaters in the back half of the year is huge.

A phone card?

I'm talking pure HB swag.

Did you see what the Van Ref posted in his plus/minus thread.

i'm sure that's what started it

- Garnie

Tanner is a lazy writer.

We both called him out on his BS stats - and he mumbles back something about it being true in P/60 two weeks ago - which is still a big, fat lie.

For a guy who is looking to parlay this into a full-time writing gig, his writing lacks the effort (and knowledge, obviously) to impress anyone enough actually read his portfolio.

Yeah, like a dirty little Frenchman is going to actually honour that.

He's going to steal the card, and then not buy soap with it.

And you're going to honor the legit HB swag and not steal it for yourself to walk around the ACC with?

Bottom line: Bad match-up for the Leafs.

For a guy that talks about luck you love to leave out PDO, where the Bruins are 13th. Plus you are leaving out a lot of 5 on 5 stats.

oronto 7.60 (5th) 5.80 (8th) 6.70 (5th)
Boston 6.96 (6th) 9.21 (1st) 8.08 (1st)

SN came up with this adding all 5v5 together.

Bottom line, you are way overating the Bruins

I said months ago that is says a lot how teams play in the final 20 games, it is the closest to playoff hockey we can see. They passed the test.

the common denominator has been aggressive gm's and having at least one cap circumventing deal on their books. The only exception is pitts' first cup win, when malkin was on an elc.

the tide will shift where teams will need key elc's on their books to win cups, but for now, la (carter), boston (chara) and pitts (crosby) are still benefiting from cap circumventing deals.

- Tumbleweed

Agreed. I believe this started in 2007 (maybe earlier but I can't remember) that pretty much every cup winner had star/core guys on ELC. 2007 is when the Ducks won with Perry and Getzlaf on ELC's.

we have too much depth to have a bad matchup with anyone.

we could very well lose, but i doubt it'll be in less than 6.

PDO is a luck stat. It's basically adding save percentage and shooting percentage, the higher above 100 it is, the luckier you are. So thanks for proving my point and showing how the Leafs have been rather lucky compared to the Bruins.

It's a bad match-up in terms of winning the series, but it's not a bad match-up in terms of getting swept. The Leafs are going to win at least a pair of games, much like they did against the Capitals last year.

Well they have to play the games. If they didn't they would have handed the first overall pick to Vegas before the season and the Cup to Nashville.

Read below if you can read that far

if you add all the stats together, and not only post stats that help your argument....it is very close. So close that arguing about advanced stats is pointless.

It has been very close........

This is an even series. One that no one should bet on if they like having money.

If you are so confident you should bet 100K on it...You will be so rich and can gloat to all of us.

Seriously do it

If the NHL just handed the Maple Leafs the Stanley Cup tomorrow, for no reason whatsoever, they just awarded the Leafs the Cup, would it be any fun? It's about the journey as much as it is the destination. Watching this young, talented Leafs team is fun because they're going to grow and improve. They'll get there eventually, if all goes well, but they just aren't there yet. Too many people want miracles to happen, the reality is, winning the Cup is extremely difficult and very good teams have either not won it at all or waited many, many years to finally pull it off. I hope they win but I'm not going to lie to myself that their odds are better than they really are.

Eugene, I try my best to not respond to you but I feel I have to here.

If it's all in fun as a fan then why poop all over everyone's "miracle" hope? Does it affect your life in ANY WAY? No. So let people have fun in their way. We will let you have fun in your "realistic" way.

He hates the Leafs. He likes watching them lose. If they win, that’s great too, because he’ll find some random meaningless thing to complain and argue about. The guy has issues.

I think what people don't like on here is you trying to say the Bruins are heavy favorites and Leafs have no chance....If you want to debate on why the Bruins may be a slight favorite and why you think they will win than go ahead. At the end of the day it does not matter who the slight favorite is, when these two teams face each other that will all go out the window, it is that close.

It is obvious to everyone that neither team is far off from eachother, and if you were to take one team to win you would not be wrong. You need to start believing this team has a chance, or at least give it a rest on telling people they don't...because they are 7th in the league, they are right behind that tier one.

If I were to say it was a miracle for Washington to win the cup would I be right? (frank) no, Washington is a good team that has a legitimate chance to win. Are they up there with NSH? Nope. but they are close enough that in a 7 game series they 100% have a chance to beat them.

I wonder how Carolina/Calgary/Chicago/StL Blue are going to do in the playoffs...they were Corsi Cup CHAMPIONS this year....ah, who am I kidding, Leafs won't have a chance against them top teams.
