First off, you need to stop with this. Those teams that won changed your mind about how good they are because of the run they went on. Not for what they did before the playoffs.
You could easily say you today, that thought Raantanen was going to breakout and say he only brokeout because of good reason that can be proven beforehand.
And sure, the odds are a bit better Nashville will win. However, their odds are horrible if you want to look at it as a whole. It would be a "miracle" if they won, so at the end of the day if someone wants to choose a team that has a bit less odds than it is perfectly fine. They are not wrong or right. - Santo_44
I did think Raantanen was going to be good but that's because I talk to Frenchie and he knows what he's talking about.
That's because you're sitting there thinking everybody has a 1 in 16 or 1 in 31 chance. Reality is, that's not how it works. |

Nope. Those previous 10 years really sucked which is the price you pay (would have been a better pay off if Burke wasn't an idiot) to have the team that the Leafs have today. But the worst scenario would be to go another 10 years of being pretenders instead of real contenders and actual champions. So while having a great season and getting bounced in the 2nd round would be cool for you, I have higher expectations of what this team should be able to accomplish. - Unholy_Goalie
i don't see anything wrong with living in the moment right now.
yeah, we might get bounced in the first round. but the roster is what it is. there are no short-term or long-term decisions to be made.
i'm just hoping for as long a ride as possible...and saving the worrying of what we're not for the offseason. |

Did you also pick Nashville goto the cup last year when they barely squeaked Into the playoffs?
Sometimes teams take the next steps in the playoffs before becoming a dominant team. |

Because Nashville plays a certain style of game that the Leafs don't play, a style that succeeds during the playoffs. |

Not at all.
I am saying every team has bad odds.
You are ragging people for saying a team with bad odds can win, yet every team has bad odds.
If you sit down and think about it, you will be able to see how ignorant you are being with all this. |

Exactly. No one was really. They took the next step in the playoffs which propelled them to be even better this year. |

Bottom line: Bad match-up for the Leafs. - Unholy_Goalie
Now what are the stats for just Toronto vs Boston all year, if you can find those.
Cause personally I don't give a damn what their average is against other teams.

5th in CF%, 8th in FF%, 7th in SF% last year. Not expected but not a huge surprise if you look at some of the underlying numbers. |

Lol , I bet last year you would have argued they didn't play the right "style" to succeed in the playoffs regardless of stats. |

So Calgary is winning the cup this year? good to know
And no sorry, I really do not believe you. With what you have said over the last 6 months you give me no reason whatsoever to believe you thought a 16th seed could make the cup final. |

This series will come down to two things, goaltending and special teams.
The teams are virtually evenly matched 5 on 5, I see the Leafs have a better spread out offence on all lines, Bruins better defensively but slower D men. |

Marner can break this series for the Bruins. The premiere match ups Boston can offer will (rightfully so) be on the ice against the Matthews line as often as possible. The Kadri line will still need to be contained, and I think that will be difficult for the Bruins. The Bozak and Plekanec lines will need to offer up one of those token low minute playoff heroes. |

Maybe Plekanec will actually score a goal......
Nah, that would be ridiculous to expect for a 2nd rounder.
We got fleeced on that deal, the guy is done. Domenic Moore will take over. |
